      Hi Gang —

When I write a blog post, the headline for the post comes up in the preview posts page, but not on the actual blog.

You can see the preview blog post page on my site here (this is where the headline shows up properly):

Here’s an example of a blog post where the headline isn’t showing up:

I’ve tried to fix the issue in the Genesis Theme Settings, but I can’t seem to find the check box that is supposed to be there.

Is there another way to get the blog headlines to show up?

      Thanks,
      Jamie

Yeah there supposed to show up by default unless something was added to directly remove them from showing.

Did you add any custom code anywhere? In your functions.php file or your Genesis Theme Settings?

Do you have any plugins running that could be causing that to happen?

          Hi Eric —

Thanks for your follow-up. It looks as though the developers I had who were customizing the theme added some code.

I’m in discussions with Synthesis about how to fix it. Thanks.

In the meantime, can you tell me where to find my .php files. I’m not qualified to mess with them, but I don’t even know where they’re located.

Just trying to learn more about all this.

          Thanks,
          Jamie

The php files are located inside of the theme folder. You can access these files through FTP and navigating to your theme folder….or you can access them from your WP admin area by going to – Appearance > Editor and then you’ll see your files from there. I would recommend letting your developers make edits to these files if you’re not familiar with PHP, because one error/typo can cause the entire site to go down.

Thanks for the update, Eric. I agree, messing with these files is beyond my expertise. Thanks for the information and thanks for all your support on the Epic Forum — much appreciated.
