If you take a look at the Legacy Theme demo, you will see 3 featured images near the bottom of the homepage. These 3 images are utilizing a widget feature in the Genesis Framework called “Genesis – Featured Page”.
The first thing you will need to do is create 3 new pages that you would like to be featured on the homepage – http://yoursite.com/legacy/wp-admin/…post_type=page. Once you create your page, make sure and add a featured image. To add a featured image, look near the bottom right-side of the page you are creating and click featured image. Upload your image, and any necessary info about the image. When you are done, click Publish to save your page.
The next step is to setup the “Genesis – Featured Page” widget. To do this, please go into the widgets section of your site – http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/widgets.php. Look for the widget titled “Genesis – Featured Page” and drag this over into your Home Bottom #1 sidebar.
Once you drag the widget over you will be able to enter the page info. Make sure that the “Image Size” is set to “Home Bottom”.
Repeat these steps 2 more times by placing the Genesis – Featured Page widget into the Home Bottom #2 and Home Bottom #3.
