Hi Wes or other helpful forum person,

We are building a site based on Legacy 1.3, which has the home page slideshow at a fixed width, not the new stretchy home page image on 1.4. When working with our client, it’s helpful to refer to your demo version of a theme as we make decisions about design and content.

Is there a link to the previous Legacy 1.3 demo version we can use as a reference point?

      Thanks!

You can still use the fixed width Slider in the new version just like it’s displayed in the older version of the demo. If you want it done with the new version you should be able to do it with the slider widget. You can even use the same background image and colors if you want as well. If so, just let me know, all I would need is a link to the site so I can tell you which line to edit in your CSS (if needed).

I don’t usually keep links of the older versions/demos, but I happen to still have the 1.3 version up (for now) since Legacy was one of the recent themes I did a major update on – http://demo.appfinite.net/legacy1/

Heads up: this demo will be removed soon, so go ahead and take a look when you can – http://demo.appfinite.net/legacy1/

Let me know if that helps, or if you need assistance with the slider

          Hi Wes,

          Hi Wes,

          Thanks for quick reply!

I downloaded the Legacy 1.4 version, and just now switched it out on the website under construction. I had already installed the Genesis Responsive Slider widget. After switching out the theme, the normal looking slideshow did appear. So I guess I’m OK at this point? Is it the installation of the Responsive Slider and adding it to the home page Slider area which triggers the normal display?

Are there instructions for configuring the new version of Legacy, 1.4, which exist somewhere which I missed?

          Thanks,
          Tad

“Is it the installation of the Responsive Slider and adding it to the home page Slider area which triggers the normal display?”

Yes, once you add any type of widget to the Slider widget area (or any widget area), then it will show up on your homepage.

The new version still works the same as the older version does, so the instructions are still the same. Basically you can add whatever widget you want into the Home Widgets, and they will show up on the homepage. It’s not limited to a specific widget, you can add a Slider, a Text Widget, or whatever type of widget you want in any of the widget locations.

Also, I just noticed the menu links on your site are showing up as white text on a white background, so that will need to be fixed in the next update.

Do you plan to have your menu towards the right of the logo (inside the main header)? Or did you want the menu to show up under the header like it’s displayed in the demo? – http://demo.appfinite.net/legacy/

                Hi Wes,

Thanks for your response. I got the site set up and tweaked all the design elements. Thought you might like to see how we’re using your theme:
