      I can’t get a shortcode to work in the homepage widget areas. I am using a plugin called WP triggers which allows me to create trigger boxes and use them in sidebars/widget areas but it doesn’t appear to work.

      I found some code to add to the functions.php file which allowed the shortcode to display inside the widget area but when you enter anything into the box, it doesn’t work as it should do. No text appears and no redirect which it’s supposed to do.

      I have tried using the default WordPress theme 2014 and it works perfectly fine in the sidebar and widget area of that theme. I even used the default Genesis theme and it worked there too so I have isolated it to being an issue with this particular theme.

        Since this is a 3rd party plugin I would try contacting the plugin developer or posting on their forum since they would be more familiar with how it works. I’m guessing since there aren’t any replies on this post that no one here has used the plugin. Hopefully the plugin author will know what the issue is.
