Hi. I have managed to optimize my website speed to an “acceptable” level but it could do much better indeed. When I test my site with Pingdom Tools I notice that there are specific requests which are causing my site’s slow loading time:

      Etc, Etc..

Now these are my main issues related to the above:

      • Those img files (supposedly background images) are nowhere to be found
      • Inspecting the element it looks like it’s in some “index” file but still, no luck after looking there

I feel like I’m missing something simple but really cannot get my head around it, any advice?
      Thanks in advance

Thats coming from your background image uploader. That usually happens if you’ve ever added an image, or attempted to add an image in the background image uploader. All you would need to do is go to Appearance > Customize and then click the “Background Images”. From there you can go to each section you’re not using and click the remove image option.

Some people use the background uploader if they don’t know css….while some would rather add the background image to their css directly….which means you wouldn’t need to use the uploader.
