      I would like to make a blog post but break them into multiple pages. How can I do this?

        While editing your page, click the “Html” tab (top right of the editor) and add this –

        <!--nextpage-->

        Make sure you are in html mode when you add the code or it won’t work.

          Thanks for your response. I tried that before  I posted (and again after your post) and it didn’t create the page break. Any other suggestions?

            I think you may have done something wrong because thats the correct and only way to do it.  This is a default feature in WordPress, as you can see from the link I posted earlier.

            Here is an example to show that it works in Legacy – http://demo.appfinite.com/legacy/2011/07/23/hello-world/

            Make sure you are in html mode when adding the code – <!–nextpage–>

              I simply copied and pasted the code. Plus, I’m quite familiar with HTML so I’m definitely using the editor. I have no idea why it’s not creating the page break. But at least by the demo, I see this theme does create one at the least.

                Thats weird, because its working for me on multiple themes, and servers….even local servers.

                I did a search to see if other people had the same issue, and I saw some old posts on WP forums that said something about Permalinks structure, and hosting.  Although I’m not sure if thats the case or not since most of the posts were old (5-6 years).

                If you want to create a temporary login, I could take a quick look to see if I notice anything that could be causing the issue.  If not, try deactivating plugins to see if anything is conflicting with this.

                  That’s cool. Where do I send the info?

                      Its working – http://canudigitblog.com/sample-test/  Delete this page once you see it.

                      I clicked the “Kitchen Sink” button in your editor.

                        Ok, I see that it worked when making a page and it likewise worked for me when editing another static page. Is the <!–nextpage–> feature only for pages and not blog posts? That’s where I’m having trouble.

                          I’m not sure, this is something handled by WordPress, and it doesn’t seem to work consistently in different situations.  I have no idea why it worked when I clicked the Kitchen Sink button either.  The kitchen sink isn’t even enabled on the Legacy demo, but it still worked, so I’m really not sure whats going on. I’ve searched forums and haven’t found an exact solution.

                            I’ve done some test pages and apparently, it doesn’t like me placing nextpage tags within published posts for the most part. It seems like I have to do this all before I publish it. I’ve made two with multiple breaks and it works fine. The only thing annoying about it is, I wish I could position the page markers above my share icons and Facebook comment section. It doesn’t look right underneath and people could miss it.

                              Yeah, I’m not sure.  There is something conflicting with it, and its not the theme since it works fine on my end.  Could be a plugin, setting, etc.  I’m out of ideas of what it could be.

                                Well at least I know it works when I need it. Thanks for your help!
