I just purchased Ally. When I go to install the zip file it keeps asking me if I’m sure I want to do this and knocks me out. It won’t let me upload it to my themes folder. Any suggestions? Would hate to think that I just wasted money on this fantastic looking theme!

I doubt it’s an issue with the theme itself, as we have plenty of people uploading and using it with no issues. Are you running the latest WordPress and Genesis? Do you have the admin permissions to upload themes?

Yes I am using both the latest on both. I uploaded other genesis themes before this one and then when I tried this one…didn’t work.
I just downloaded the file and uploaded it with no issues, so I’m not sure what’s going on with your setup. Are you running PC or Mac? ….that may not have anything to do with it, but I’m just wondering.
Can you try unzipping the file on your desktop (or anywhere) and then re-zipping the files back and then try re-uploading it?
If there is a problem with WP uploading files, you could just add the theme directly to your themes folder by using FTP.
Let me know what happens

I’m having the same issue. I unzipped the theme, removed the Layer Slider (which is a whopping 8 mb) then re-zipped. The theme uploaded fine. I then tried to upload the layer slider plugin zip separately and got that same darned “do you really want to do this” message. I’m assuming you have demo images which is causing the bulk. I’m gonna unzip the plugin and install via FTP…
hmmm. OK, there are two more zip files inside the zipped plugin (nested zip files have caused problems for me in the past). What are these? Should I just unzip those and include within the Layer-Slider directory when I upload?
… Just answered my own question when I read the documentation. This is the file you can upload using the plugin installer:
layersliderwp-3.6.1.installable.zip, but you have to unzip the theme, and then unzip the zipped plug-in to reach it.
Yep thats it. There was no other way to include the slider other than adding it inside of the theme. Glad you got it working.

Just wanted to let everyone know, that I’ve redeveloped this theme based on Genesis 2.0/HTML5 – https://appfinite.com/topic/ally-1-3-for-genesis-2-0-html5-is-now-available/ You can download the newest version from your account – https://appfinite.com/my-account
Also, you may have had issues uploading the theme previously because the slider (which is almost 8mb) was included in the theme. Depending on your host/setup, you may or may not be able to upload files that large in WordPress. I have fixed this issue by adding both the theme and the slider separately, so you should be able to download them both independently from your account page. This is documented in the ReadMe file as well.
Thanks
