After installing Epik on a site created using Prose, the footer (1-3) widget and copyright area information (Simple Edits plugin) did not transfer. I had to do it manually. How do I prevent for my next Epik installations?

I’m honestly not sure about this one. I haven’t used Prose so I don’t want to make any guesses and give you the wrong info. From my experience with other themes, the widget content usually shows up in the “inactive” section of the widget page…..which would enable you to simply drag them over to wherever you need. This usually happens if the widget area from one theme is named or labeled different than another theme.

Wes, The footer widgets did not go to the inactive section, but I’ll put them there before I install Epik next time. So, no worries. Thank you for thoughts.

Wes, Very nice work on the design of Epik, BTW. I love its simplicity and minimalism. I view designs like this as nonconforming, which is a strength IMO.
