Epik is simply stellar. I love the front page. Excellent work, Wes.
Thanks Josh!
Great theme! A couple of pre-sale questions.
1. Nothing appears to be clickable on the homepage. What can I enable to click through on the homepage (in the slider? in service section? in the promo area’s below the service areas?
2. Can the slider show featured posts?
3. Can i enable the comments meta tag for posts on the blog page?
Thanks. Greg
1. I just created sample code and images in the widget areas, so it’s not really supposed to link to anything since its just a demo……but you can easily make everything clickable if you wanted. That includes the slider as well.
2. The Slider being used is the Genesis Responsive Slider which is actually created by StudioPress – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/genesis-responsive-slider/ it will show whatever post or page you add to it. As mentioned earlier, you can also make these clickable links.
3. Yes, you can. This is a Genesis Standard feature. I went ahead and enabled it, so you can see what it looks like.
Thanks Wes.
I’m a Studiopress user but I just wanted to make sure from your end. Haven’t purchased from you guys just yet. 馃槈
Q – Is there a way to get the 3 or 4 blog posts on the home page with the slider and 1 service area above it?
Thanks – Greg
Yes, you could add a widget called “Genesis Featured Posts” (standard in the Genesis Framework). You can add this to any of the widget areas.
Wes, do you know if the feature posts widget handles blog post by date? This is what I am after. From the newest post on down.
@Greg Yes this is a standard Genesis Feature/Widget. It is available with the Genesis Framework itself which means any Genesis Child theme will be able to use it.
Great. Thanks Wes.
Dude! You knocked it out of the ball park!!
Awesome work! You are going places my friend! 馃檪
Wes I’ve gotta hand it to you – this theme looks amazing and really has me thinking!
Excellent work, you’re on a roll. 馃檪
Thanks, I appreciate it!
Fantastic looking theme! I think it’s just what I was looking for.
Pre-sale: are the tutorials/docs hosted on the StudioPress site with the other themes and community themes?
Thanks Ethan!
I actually have tutorials here – https://appfinite.com/tutorials/ (in the menu above) and also at the top of the Epik Support Forum here – https://appfinite.com/forum/epik-theme-support/. Most things are already covered, but I’ll be adding a lot more soon.
Hi from Ireland!
Really, really impressed with this theme Wes. Congrats.
Just one thing, would be good to include some fancy hover effects like the Studiopress Minimum social media icons here – http://demo.studiopress.com/minimum/
Any chance you could add to the stylesheet?
Cheers, or “Sl谩inte” as we say here in Ireland.
Hello William,
The feature you’re referring to is actually already included in the theme. It’s probably hard to notice it since it’s set to transition quickly. However, you could easily change this in the css, it’s really just a matter of changing a number……And of course I’d be more than happy to help you make the adjustment if you were to decide to use this theme.
Glad you like the theme! I appreciate it!
Thanks!
Hi Wes,
Very nice looking theme! Just a question about the home page–the design appears that it could be used as a “one-pager”, as it scrolls fairly deep down into content, which happens to be something I’m looking for in a theme at the moment. However I don’t see any nav items in the top menu that link to any parts of the home page. Can that functionality be added easily? I’m looking for that smooth, sliding effect as the page content is brought into view upon clicking the link.
Thanks!
I’m sure this can be done, but I haven’t done it myself just yet. However, Brian Gardner has created a tutorial on how to add a sticky menu in Genesis. You can check it out here – http://www.briangardner.com/sticky-menu/
First theme I’ve purchased outside the StudioPress created ones and I have to say – It took me 10 seconds to make up my mind and hit “buy” – What a gorgeous piece of work. On-line art is more like it. I can’t wait to switch over to this theme in the next few days. I wanted to take a second to say “WOW” and “Thanks!” for something different.
Abundance Always,
Al
PS: Let me know if there are any video tutorials on this theme to fast-track my switch!
Thanks Al!
I don’t have any video tutorials, but I do have plenty of tutorials for this theme in the forums, which can be found here – https://appfinite.com/forum/epik-theme-support/ ….the sticky posts at the top. These tutorials show exactly how I set everything up.
Have to agree with the above – I often have a ho-hum feeling when checking outside theme development for StudioPress. This is awesome. We will be using it on one of our business sites for sure. Great work! Can’t wait to use the theme.
Thanks Monique! Glad you like it.
Let me know when you use it.
