I also want to update my Ally theme and need a bit more clarification. I’ve not done anything to change its files but do have a Layer slider created. You say “you can replace the old theme with the new version.” I went to the Themes panel in WordPress and told it to add the new Ally theme. It failed because the Ally folder already exists. There’s no option to “update” or “replace” so what’s the best process to get this done? Overwrite it via FTP or somehow within WordPress? Love the theme. It’s great. Just want to use some of the new button classes.
