Yes it’s supposed to be empty at first so you can add the content that you need (rather than removing a lot of content you don’t want).

The homepage is based on Widgets. So once you add a widget inside one of the Home widget areas it will automatically show up on your homepage. You can copy/paste the exact code that is used on the demo by taking a look at the top of the Epik Forum page – https://appfinite.com/forum/epik-theme-support/ You’ll see the tutorials and code snippets at the very top. They should be Yellow Highlighted Sticky posts. So copy/paste that info into a TEXT widget and it will show up.
