Looks like everything is working perfectly.
The gap is there because you have something inside your content area of the Portfolio page editor. It’s showing a few <p></p> tags which is where that space is coming from.
The reason the last row only has two pictures is because you have your portfolio settings set to show 10 posts. Increase or decrease this number from your Portfolio Settings at the bottom of the Genesis Theme Settings Page.
