Reply To: "Read more" works in footer, not on page. Very strange.

I tried it with a different page.  Same thing.

However, when I put in the character content limit of 50 it worked fine on home and on the test page.

The read-more works fine on home page footer but not a content page.

No, I don’t have any plugins active except Gen Responsive Slider.

When I get a chance I’ll try it with a different theme… but like you say I don’t see how a child theme could be at fault unless you have some special code in functions.php  or home.php that messes with the footer? I looked and didn’t see anything.

All in all, not a big deal… it just surprises me. I left a post on the StudioPress site about it and maybe someone will explain it.

Have you been able to replicate it with Optimal?
