We are using the Soliliquy slider. My client would like to have a search box over top of the slider? I know Carrie has a code to do it over Minimum, but can it be done on Legacy – add a widget over the slider?
I haven’t seen the tutorial you’re referring to, but I believe it should work as most Genesis tutorials offer code that works with any Genesis child theme. You could add a widget inside the slider area on top of the slider widget….or you could create an entirely new/separate widget area as well. I usually just copy/paste the same widget and rename it.
Here is the Tut Carrie did for adding a widget area – http://www.carriedils.com/text-overlay-image/. I just don’t know how to implement it on Legacy.
Yes that tutorial should work fine with just about any Genesis theme. Have you already tried it? The only thing I’d recommend doing is changing the word “minimum” to “legacy” (for consistency in your code).
I am going to try it tomorrow. I’ll send you a screen shot if I can get it to work! Thanks Wes.
