I am loving this theme (now that I seem to be getting the hang of it)!

I have a portfolio pages tied to a post categories and they work great.

If I am on a portfolio page and select one of the posts, would it be possible for that post page to act like blog page (for that specific category) meaning some number of previous posts would display below the selected post (like a blog page)?

I hope that question made sense–thanks!

I think the title does not represent my question. I maybe should have titled it, “Can a post page selected from a portfolio page act like a blog page?” Or something like that…Dan

I’m not sure if it’s possible with this portfolio since it’s limited in features. As far as I know, it only can show posts, but it won’t show pages. To create a blog in Genesis you have to create a page and add the portfolio template, so I’m not sure how that could be done. I would recommend searching for a portfolio plugin if you need more options, because this portfolio is basically just a blog designed in a portfolio format.

Dan it sounds like what you want is for a single-blog-post page to show (at the bottom of the current post) links to other/previous posts, not just the “previous” and “next” posts links? Or are you talking about a category (archive) page that shows a list of posts for that category or tag?

I think if we can get a feel for exactly what you want someone may be able to post a possible solution.

Thanks for the responses Eric and Trisha.

              Trisha,

If you take a look at http://imfitover50.com in the primary nav menu you will see a “blog” page and then a couple of portfolio pages “Food Diary” and “Work Log.”

The “blog” page shows all posts from all categories.

The “Food Diary” page is a portfolio page showing only the posts for the “Food Diary” category. Today when you select one of those posts it displays the selected post on a page (as it should).

What I would love to have happen is when you select one the “Food Diary” posts from the portfolio page, not only would the selected post display, but “n” number of older posts in that category would display below the selected post. I would like it to act exactly like a standard blog page but only show the posts in the Food Diary category.

I hope this is a better explanation 🙂 please do let me know of you have questions and thanks for looking into this!

              Dan
