CustomerHi, is it possible to change the black default color on the left (when chossing the default color scheme) for red?
Thanks!

ModeratorYes you can, the black area you see is an image. So you could create an image (if you can) and simply replace it. It is located in your css under “body” on or around line 149.

CustomerThanks for the help I managed to change the color. Now I am wondering if it would be possible with this theme to have a “conventional” header on top as well? Thank you!

ModeratorIts possible, but you would have to make quite a few customizations on your end. You would have to unhook the current location of the header in your functions file, and also make the customizations to the header in your css.

CustomerThanks, that’s sounds quite challenging. I really like the position of the menu as it is there now (on the left instead the usual on top) but the header would be quite important. Is there any other way out? For instance I saw your Classik theme, it also as the menu on the left, would be possible with this theme to have the menu on the left and have a conventional header on top?

ModeratorAgile and Classik are both setup the same way….with the header on the left. As mentioned before, you can definitely have the header up top, but the only way to do it is to unhook the current location and add it to a different location. This can only be done through your functions file as all Genesis Hooks are done this way – http://www.studiopress.com/tutorials/hooks
You could also take a look here at this tutorial by Carrie Dils on moving the header – http://www.carriedils.com/web-development-blog/genesis-framework/move-header-footer-genesis/948
The only other thing you would need to do is customize your css.

CustomerThank you very much! I will give it a read to see if that’s something I will be able to manage.

ModeratorYou’re Welcome!
….Also, I think you’ll be able to handle it as long as you have a basic understanding of Genesis “hooks” and css. I always recommend reading the tutorials and giving it a try on your own first, but if its too difficult, or if you don’t have the time to do it, you can always hire a developer to customize this for you.

CustomerI saw this is not completely clear to me as I do not want to change the menu that I have in the current header right, this is something that I very much like in this theme. So changeing the header posisting I guess would also move the menu too, right? We will see I might end up going to one of the stodiopress themes (being Pro Plus Member gives a lot of flexibility). You have great themes, I have done a site based on your legacy theme that looks really good. I actually would be interested in a theme from you that could have both things the menu on the left (like agile and classik) and a “classic” header. I am quite sure I would be not the only one :-). Thank you very much!

ModeratorOnce you move the header, the nav will stay in its place….since its a Custom Menu widget.
I may have a couple themes in the future that have the header up top and sidebar on the left.

CustomerThanks a lot, indeed it will be great if you will have themes with your great design that have the header up top and sidebar on the left. Would you have a timeframe for that? Thanks!

ModeratorI don’t have a specific timeframe just yet. It may be a while.
If you’re on twitter, I always announce new theme releases and updates here – http://twitter.com/WesStraham and you could also check the blog as well.
