Hi, when I write anything on a page with the Portfolio template applied, it doesn’t display any of that content, it only displays the relevant portfolio sub pages. I was wondering if someone could tell me how to update the Epik portfolio PHP template to allow for the content from the main parent page to be displayed in a separate DIV above the portfolio items?

I want this to be intuitive for the person editing the website, and so I don’t want widgets used, the content needs to come from the main portfolio parent page. I need this approach on more than one page, with different content, so it makes sense not to use widgets.

The look that I’m after can be seen in the mocked up screen shot below, where the content displayed above the portfolio items has come from the actual content of the main portfolio page.

You’ll also notice in the image below that there’s some content that appears below the portfolio items (I know this is probably much harder, so my main focus is on getting content to appear at the top). The reason for also wanting content below is that I need the portfolio items to appear as high on the page as possible, but I still have a lot more to say on the page without wanting to push the portfolio items further down the page. Maybe the content could be split (before and after portfolio items) by using a More tag? <!--more--> and having some code to look for that?

    Hope that all makes sense.
    Thank.

You may want to read this – http://appfinite.com/topic/text-content-above-posts-on-portfolio-page/#post-3289 ….there was a minor conflict of some sort between the portfolio file and the Genesis 1.9 update.

Thanks Kronos, much appreciated. I did do quite a bit of searching before posting, but missed that one for some reason. So it doesn’t look as if Wes has been able to do this in the 3 months since. I guess this means that it will hopefully be fixed when the Epik update comes out for HTML5/Genesis 2.0?

Does anyone know if something like I suggested would be possible to make content appear below the portfolio items? i.e. using <!--more-->?

Not sure….I do know he’s had a ton of things on his to do list, but I assume he or someone else will figure it out.
