Really enjoy using the theme, so thank you.
A question: I’d like to add ‘Previous post’ and ‘Next post’ links to the top of my single posts, but with the names of the actual posts.
I’ve searched this forum and not been able to find a way of doing it.
I found this bit of code for adding the links after the single post (not what exactly what I’d like, but it’s a start) and have tried putting the code into the functions.php of the Epik theme, but it doesn’t seem to do anything.
Any help would be much appreciated – thank you.
Dave
Not sure if this will help or not, but give it a try and let me know – http://bit.ly/1zPDMT0
Thank you. I tried pasting the code on that page into the Epik functions.php, but nothing changed as far as I could see. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong at my end.
It would be good to do this as I’m using Epik on a cartoon website, and it would mean viewers could just click from one cartoon directly to the next. Any more suggestions welcomed.
Thanks again,
Dave
@davewalker This tutorial works. I just tested it myself.
You’ll probably need to customize the css. You can change the arrows to say “Previous” and “Next” if you want to as well.

Thank you. Unfortunately I’m obviously doing something wrong, but I really don’t understand what. Edited functions.php and style.php in the Epik theme folder, adding in both pieces of code. Still no change on the site. I’ve edited countless themes before, so no idea why this isn’t working.
Do you have a link to your site so I can take a look?
If you want me to login and add the code for you I can, but I would recommend doing so through FTP so we can backup everything in case of an error.

Erik – thank you, the site is davewalker.cc, with the blog at davewalker.cc/blog
Trying to think if there is any setting I could have set somewhere which means it isn’t showing up, perhaps?

I’m not sure, it should work once you add the code in…..unless you have some other code/plugin that is overriding it.
When I added the code from the tutorial it worked. Two arrows showed up at the top of the post. They are small arrows, so make sure when you add the code that you don’t miss it. Once you get the code working, you’ll need to customize the css so it shows up the way you want. At the start it will show up with both arrows on the left, but once you customize the CSS you can have one on the left, and the other on the right. You should also be able to change the arrows to TEXT or whatever you want to be displayed to represent the previous/next links.

Thank you. Will take a look at my other plugins, etc.
