Just a quick note of thanks to Eric and Wes for your recent help with my header queries, between your help and some tutorials found in these forums and an app I’ve been able to make the header do what I want –
1) no more logo resize (thanks Eric)
2) add a twitter link to the menu (using Menu Social Icons)
3) add a search box to the menu using this tutorial https://www.petersenmediagroup.com/adding-simple-social-icons-search-form-genesis-menu/ which I think Wes linked to in answer to someone else on the forum
as a result, and by also using the Popular Posts Tabbed Widget for Jetpack plugin I’ve been able to reduce sidebar clutter considerably which I’d naughtily allowed to grow and worsen until it’d become an eyesore.
I didn’t go for the recolouring of the header in the end because I decided it would distract from the content.
