      Hi there,

      I’m having an issue with Oasis in creating the home page. While I’ve followed guidelines similar to what is outlined in the documentation, and have NOT set a featured image for the home page, the theme is taking the first image that is actually loaded into the page and treating it as a featured image.

      In other words, there’s a random picture at the start of the page, and THEN I get my home page design.

      I want featured images turned on for pages and posts, but only when an actual featured image has been set.

      Please advise how to correct this.

        Hi Mark,

        The reason this is happening is because you may have your featured images set to show up automatically in your Genesis Theme Settings.

        In your admin, go to “Genesis Theme Settings”, then click the “Singular Content” tab. From there you’ll see the options to turn on or off Featured Images from showing on Posts or Pages.

        If you would like to leave that option turned on so the featured images continue showing automatically for your Posts or Pages, then you can individually turn them off in the Page/Post Editor itself.

        To do this, go to the page you’re editing (Homepage in this case). Click the Genesis Icon on the top right (G logo) and check the box that says “Hide Featured Image”. This will turn it off for that particular page.

          I am having a similar issue to original poster – the fixes suggested don’t show in Oasis theme. The ‘turn off feature images doesn’t show up”. It is an image that cannot be edited, I can’t click on it (just jumps to next section of homepage) and if I delete the container, it deleted the next section and not this first image. At this rate, I need to quit using this theme if this can’t be fixed, does anyone have any other ideas?
