Footer widget text not aligning

      The text in my first footer widget commences one line lower than the text in the remaining two widgets … does anyone know where this error might lie and how I can fix it?

        Do you use firebug to trouble shoot? You can compare the two columns next to it and see what is different about the 1 vs the other 2. Just look closely, examine and tinker. Its most likely something silly but may not jump right at 1st

          Thank you @hoolamonster. Unfortunately I’m new to all this and am unable to resolve the issue using Firebug as I don’t really know what I’m looking for! :o(

              Since I have the link to your site already, I just checked and it appears you have an extra <p></p> tag/tags appearing in your code. This can happen if you manually added it inside the widget area itself. It can also happen if you checked the box on your text widgets labeled – Automatically add paragraphs (on your widgets page). It will add a paragraph tag anytime you press enter or add a new line. So check to make sure your text/code starts at the very top with no space in between.

                Thanks @Wes. I had thought of that too, but what confused me is that all three footer text widgets are formatted the same as the first one, yet it’s only the first one that loads incorrectly aligned. Footer text widget one reads:

                <div class="textwidget"><blockquote style="margin: 0;">
<p>

</div>

                Which bits should I delete — and I assume I should edit the remaining two text widgets to match?

                  PS The ‘automatically add paragraphs’ box is checked in all three text widgets.

                    It’s okay – I removed the <p> </p>tags and all is fine now.

                        I will for sure, thank you @Wes. If it’s not stretching the friendship too far, I have one outstanding query in the forums re changing the text colour in the Welcome Wide widget. Would you have a moment to address it? Then I’ll be ready to go live! :o)
