Full width responsive logo?

      Hi,
      Struggling to accomplish a full width responsive logo, I have made my logo banner 1140 x 300 I have changed the necessary settings in functions.php it displays perfectly however it does not shrink when make the viewing port smaller, it still uses the full size logo on my ipad, I have checked the dir and the alternate resolution files have been created.

      I tried using the genesis responsive header but this does not work either, can anyone advise how to get this working
