Is there something in Epik that is reformatting the images in the Genesis Responsive Slider?
I’ve spent a few days with them on this issue, and they said something’s happening in the theme.
the slider images are sized according to the max sizes in set up. When they’re published,
the images are lowered quite a bit and seem to be blown up. I had to recreate all the jpgs so the central images kept the lower 30% empty.

      Thanks!

        P.S. t si
The settings show max size is 920×400 – I have tried some images that size, and the same problem occurs – the image is lowered quite a bit and seems to be blown up.
The actual size seems to be 1250 x 430 – I’ve made images that size and and they are also positioned lower than center, and look like they are expanded.
The images there now have been formatted to adapt to the forced (seemingly) styling.

        Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Epik won’t affect how the images show up, this is mostly controlled from Genesis and WordPress.

Did you add a width to the settings? That’s the first thing you should do before adding your images. When you add your images, figure out the exact size of them and the size of your theme (most themes are 1140px)….since most themes are 1140px you would need to make sure the width is set to 1140px in the Genesis Slider settings, otherwise it will show up at 920px (standard).

Make sure you’re adding it in the right slider area. There are two of them. One for full width images and one for 1140px images which will show up in the center.

When making changes to the sizes you’ll need to download and run a plugin called Regenerate Thumbnails and it will automatically change all of the sizes to adjust to what is specified in your settings.

            Thanks, kronos.
I will get the regenerate thumbnails plugin.

I’m at a loss about the slider settings. The genesis responsive slider has a clear link to take you to a place to change the settings.
I did that. That’s all I did. AND I set the width at 920. I’ll change it to 1140px and run that plub in.

I only know of one place to add the images – the Featured Image area of a post. Where’s the other one?

@HiNooril I think @Kronos is talking about 2 widget areas that you can add the slider to (not two ways to upload images). So you’re right, uploading a featured image is the only way to add an image to the Genesis Slider.

Your site width is 1140px so I would add that in the width settings of the Genesis Slider. Also, try and add your slider in the 2nd slider area. Right now you have it in the “Slider Wide” widget area, which is full width. Try adding it to the “Slider” widget area and it will be centered in the middle of your site and match the width of your theme.

Here is the link to the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/ Just about everyone in the Genesis Community (and other WordPress users as well) use this plugin. It definitely works and gets everything adjusted quickly, so you can’t go wrong adding it to your sites.
