      Happy New Year, Wes!

      I just purchased the Guru theme and can’t find the support forum for this theme, or instructions as to how to set up the site so that it looks like the demo.

        Whoops sorry about that, apparently it was set to private. I can’t believe no one else said anything haha. Anyways I just opened it up here – https://appfinite.com/forums/ (I also went ahead and moved this post to the Guru Forum to get it going)

        Here is the direct link – https://appfinite.com/forum/guru-theme-support/

        Give me another day or two and I’ll be adding some detailed tutorials. I was originally going to wait until I had both the theme and docs ready, but a lot of people were begging me to go head and release it.

        As far as setting the theme up, it’s pretty much the same process as my Epik and SquareOne themes (I’m not sure if you have one of those or not). For the homepage just add whichever type of widget you choose into the widget location you want to use and they’ll show up. I’m using Text Widgets on most of them.

        To add/change the background images, you can do this by using the Customizer link from your WordPress admin. First you would locate the image/section you want to change, and then just upload or select an image from your WordPress media.

        I’ll be uploading a file that you can use to automatically add all of the widget content from the demo onto your site so you can see what everything looks like similar to what I did here – https://appfinite.com/topic/easy-way-to-setup-the-epik-homepage-in-one-click/

        For all the Posts, Pages, comments, and other demo content you can use the XML file located in the XML folder of the theme. The XML file doesn’t upload Widget data, but I’ll have an alternative way to do that soon (example – in the previous paragraph)

        Until I get the docs completely finished, if you need help with anything specific feel free to ask.

        Thanks!

          Thank you, Wes!

          Of course I have SquareOne! I think I may have purchased that one twice. I tend to purchase your themes for every site I use them on, as opposed to buying the theme once and putting it on more than one domain name.

          I was about to go look at SquareOne to see if there was anything there that would clue me in has to how you have those 3 columns set up in the white space below the first image (Learn to attract new customers), with the buttons. Are you simply using a 3 column layout in a text widget? And what about those images?

          I’m just about finished with this project already. All I need to do is that one section with the 3 columns. That’s one of the many things I love about your themes; I can handle those “I needed this new site to go live yesterday!” clients. The first time I used SquareOne, that entire project, from initial conversation to site launch, was completed in under 10 hours. I wish ALL of my projects were as easy!

            The 3 column section code comes from the Columns page – http://demo.appfinite.net/guru/columns/ This is usually included in most/nearly all Genesis themes.

            Here’s the exact code I used –

            <div class="one-third first"><img src="http://demo.appfinite.net/guru/img/h-1.jpg"><h3>Create Viral Content</h3>
            <p>Don't just create content, create Content that stands out!</p>
            <a class="button">Learn How!</a>
            </div>

            <div class="one-third"><img src="http://demo.appfinite.net/guru/img/h-2.jpg"><h3>Optimize your SEO</h3>
            <p>Structuring Content for Search Engines is important for traffic.</p>
            <a class="button">Get Optimizing!</a>
            </div>

            <div class="one-third"><img src="http://demo.appfinite.net/guru/img/h-3.jpg"><h3>Responsive Design</h3>

              I was wondering whether or not those were featured posts/pages, of if you just added a line of text below a manually inserted image. I was hoping they were featured pages/post, but that’s okay that they’re not.

              Thank you, Wes!

                @Terri, you could still add featured posts/pages if you wanted to. All you would have to do is add a little bit of css to make them float on the side of each other.

                  Thank you, Eric. As it turned out, going with the manually entered content worked fine for this site.
