      Hi Wes & everyone!

First off, thanks for the awesome theme.

On my site the blog is the home page — that’s what we are: a blog. I want to keep the blog as the home page, but I’d love to be able to utilize the Epik theme ‘home page’ for other pages that I want to create on this particular site. For example, we’re developing apps and we have other projects that we’d love to feature as pages on our site using the awesome widget layout.

What I’ve done is taken the home.php, duplicated it to be page_home.php and added the // Template Name: Home so that I can select the ‘Home’ template for a page. That’s where my knowledge ends.

Is there a way that I can utilize the ‘home page’ setup as seen in the demo on multiple pages without having even one of them be the true “home page?” That way I can build out additional pages with that layout. I hope that makes some sense.

I mentioned a couple ways to do this in one of my previous comments – https://appfinite.com/topic/make-other-pages-with-the-same-layou/#post-4784

I’d definitely recommend the Custom Sidebar plugin

Will that plugin let me utilize all of the Homepage widget areas?

It allows you to use the same widget areas and show different content for different pages.

They should have a forum, or documentation that explains how to use it….I’m sure there are a few tutorials out there somewhere as well. But this would definitely get the job done.

Thanks Kronos, I’ll give it a try and let you know if it works.

Hmm, I’m not seeing the ability to use the same widget areas to show different content on different pages.

I can create a new area, and use that area on some pages but not others, but the widget area would have to be given its own unique styling in the stylesheet.

Make sure you’re using the right plugin – http://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-sidebars/

You can definitely show different content on different pages using the same widgets (without having to create new widgets)……here is what it looks like – http://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-sidebars/screenshots/

You may want to check to see if they have some documentation, or do a Google search for one of the tutorials on setting it up. It should be pretty easy

The problem I’m running into is that my blog page is the front/homepage. What I honestly need is a way to disable the widget areas used in the ‘home page’ on the page displaying my latest posts.

You know what, I’m being dumb. I figured out that I was having my front page display my posts. I created a blog page and had my front page be that static page utilizing the ‘blog’ template.

Now I can use your plugin idea and it works. Thanks Kronos for your patience. 馃檪
