Epik and the Genesis Framework have been absolutely great. I’ve been able to add additional widgets through the Genesis Simple Sidebars plugin for additional feature and highlight areas on the front page. I’ve used the same plugin for creating new widget areas on new template pages throughout the site. It’s never been an issue.

For some reason, however, I just tried to add several new widgets into the page_home.php template, and for some reason, they’re not being recognized on the home page. I’ve added sidebars before the same way, and they show up just fine. I’ve also added them to the functions.php file, and they show up just fine in the widgets window. Any suggestions? The website is http://linklings.com/.

I’m sure it’s a small fix, I’d just have to take a look at the backend in order to see what’s going on.

Is it possible to create a temporary login?

Ok after about 30 minutes I figured it out. If you’re trying to edit your HOME page, you would need to edit the home.php file. It looks like you added code to your page_home.php file, and that code isn’t being shown because it’s not the Home page…..it’s just a template file that you can assign to a Page.

The Home.php file is what WP recognizes as the home page automatically unless you override that in your Settings. You can either copy some of the code from the page_home.php file and transfer that over to your home.php file, or you could change the Front Page Displays in Settings > Reading to your template file.

This was definitely one of those “Doh!” moments. Thank you so much for taking the time to look it through. I appreciate it greatly. I absolutely love this theme, it looks amazing.
