How to setup widgets for anything other than home page

Hi all, silly question maybe, but I am setting up my homepage using the widgets as described elsewhere in this forum but I don’t understand how to use widgets for anything else such as a page template or posts.

Can anyone advise please?

The only other widgets are the Primary and Secondary Widget areas…..those are the ones that show up on your Pages and Posts (depending on which layout you have setup). The homepage widgets are designed to only show up on the homepage, while the Primary and Secondary widgets show up on all other pages if your layout allows it to.

Thank you Kronos. I am used to a system where the widgets are used for a universal layout of a wordpress site but with the epik theme what i see in the widget area is only the option to add widgets to the home page so I’ve got confused.

I’ve read a bit about templates but maybe I am still missing some fundamentals. I was thinking if the homepage is a template, surely in the appearenece / widgets area there would be a way to add widgets to other templates.

Is that not possible?

Yes you can create multiple homepages by turning it into an actual page template. Right now it’s just the homepage, but you can convert it into a template. Take a look at @Eric’s comment for more info – https://appfinite.com/topic/home-page-layout-to-be-applied-to-internal-pages/#post-9566
