      Hi,

      I want to add a welcome message box for members (I’m building a membership site) that people can be able to close after by simply clicking on a little close icon. There’s a shortcode for permanent message box but not for dynamic boxes. Do you know any tutorial or good way to do this?

          Hi thank you Wes. Do you know any way at least to add a widget area on top of a specific page. Something that will separate the page on top to insert content like ‘welcome message box’ and ‘login form’ just like we see here: http://my.studiopress.com/

            Yes there are a lot of tutorials out there that explain how to do it. It’s pretty easy if you already have experience with copy/pasting SP code snippets.

            Here is one from StudioPress – http://my.studiopress.com/tutorials/register-widget-area/ here’s one from Carrie Dils – http://www.carriedils.com/widget-area-above-header-genesis/ You can follow either of those and then just adjust the position as needed.

            If you want more examples you can do a Google search and you’ll find a lot more – https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+create+a+widget+area+in+genesis&oq=how+to+create+a+widget+area+in+genesis …but those should help you get it up and running quickly.
