Tagged: Traffic
My website is: http://www.hqsocialmedia.com/
3 days after I changed my previous theme to the Genesis + Epik theme, my traffic dropped by almost 75%. I first thought that it’s just temporary because of the redesign, but now, after 3 months from installing the theme, my traffic hasn’t recovered. In a matter of fact, it’s slightly decreasing every month.
I didn’t change anything besides the theme itself and the Genesis framework. The tracking I use is Google Analytics which is the same as before. When I looked at the dashboard, I found out that I mostly lost search engine traffic. The posts that were generating most of the traffic to my website are now generating only 1/4 the traffic. I think it’s an SEO problem, but I can’t find what it is. The SEO options in Genesis are configured correctly after recommendations from StudioPress support, so I don’t think that the problem is there.
Please let me know how can I fix this.
Thank you
The child theme (Epik in this case) doesn’t affect SEO, it’s just the design. It’s the Genesis Framework that is responsible for the SEO/Markup etc. I’ve never heard of anything like this happening…..usually when people switch to Genesis their traffic increases due to the SEO features. Maybe there is something else going on, like a setting from your previous settings before you switched?
Sorry to hear about that! Hopefully it’s an easy fix.
Anyone else have any ideas?
