I searched the forum and did not see this asked anywhere before.  I have a client that would like to turn off the lightbox behavior on the portfolio page, and instead have the image be the permalink for the post instead?  I know I can remove <code>rel=”prettyPhoto[gallery1]”</code> to remove the lightbox, but unsure how to replace the image link with the post permalink.

Take a look at the tutorials link in the menu at the top of the site. Here is the link to remove the prettyPhoto slideshow and have the images link to the posts instead – http://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-remove-the-prettyphoto-slideshow-effect/

Also, I have a Search field on the forum’s homepage – http://appfinite.com/forums/. I didn’t know if you knew about it or not. There are actually a few posts where users asked about this, so if you searched and nothing showed up on the topic, let me know and I’ll see if I can find a different Search plugin (for bbpress).

Hopefully in the near future I’ll come up with a way to add a checkbox (for prettyPhoto) that you can turn on or off so you won’t have to edit any code.

Thanks for taking the time to answer Wes; that tutorial worked perfectly!  🙂

To answer your other question, I feel kind of dumb for not checking your Tutorials section. 🙂

About search, when I was on Theme Support page for Optimal (http://appfinite.com/forum/optimal-theme-support/) I didn’t see a search box, so I actually browsed all the existing support articles.  I did not think to go to the main forum page and do a search from there, sadly.  A control in the dashboard would be nice, but I prefer to change the php; I just didn’t know where to look this time around.  Thanks again!

    Great, glad it’s working.

I’ll be adding updates/improvements (forums, tutorials, documentation, etc) to make things easier to browse. I’m using bbpress for this forum (you may already know that) and it doesn’t come with a Search function. So I had to download another plugin to enable this feature which is why its only on the main page for now. In the future I’ll try and get it on every forum page so everything will be easier to browse.

Let us know if you need anything else.
