Hi Wes, can you tell me where I can find the portfolio template in the install? I’m not sure if it is just code in a page template that I am missing from my install or somewhere else.
Many thanks.
G
You would create a Page and title it Portfolio (or whatever you want) and then select the “Portfolio” template on the right sidebar of the page editor.
Here are a couple tutorials for the Portfolio – http://appfinite.com/tutorials/
Let me know if that helps.
Thank you Wes. I am looking through the detail now. It looks like I can only have one portfolio page?
I was hoping to set up about four different portfolios linking to different sets of pages. Is that possible?
Thanks
G
Yes there is a link on that page that shows how to create multiple portfolio pages – http://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-create-multiple-portfolios/
It’s based on categories. You can either have them all on one page, or each one on separate pages. Also, if you want to exclude your portfolio posts from showing up in your blog then you can add the IDs to exclude in your Genesis Theme Settings page under the Blog Page Template section.
Thanks Wes, yes so that is categories of posts only and not categories of pages as well?
Yes this is just a basic portfolio which only shows posts. I always recommend searching for a more dedicated plugin if you need more options.
