Is there an easy way (or a successful way) to add a responsive slider in the Homepage Featured Image 1 area? … Replacing the background image.
Thanks!
Yes it’s definitely possible. The only thing you’d have to change is some of the CSS that will surround the slider. Have you already found one?
No, I haven’t! Your help would be greatly appreciated!
I don’t really know too many as I don’t use them myself. I would search the WordPress repository for a Responsive Slider. You could also try CodeCanyon.net for Premium Plugins (Paid).
I’ve used the Layer Slider from CodeCanyon a few years ago on another theme. It should have that feature, but I didn’t use it.
Some use the Genesis Responsive Slider (Free) when using a Genesis Theme. It’s a simple plugin, but it may be all you need. I’d give that a try first before searching for a premium plugin.
Hi Wes,
I’m sorry … I thought you meant have I already found the CSS to make the slider work.
Yes, I have worked with several Responsive Slider plugins. And I found another post where you supplied the CSS to make the slider full width in Widget Area 1. The guy was using the Soliloquy Slider. (the post is below in case someone else is looking for the same)

So I got that all working. But my problem was my text overlay. I originally had my static image in the Background 1 area and my text in Widget Area 1 …. laying over the picture. Once I added my slider to Widget Area 1, my text, of course, didn’t work there.
So my solution was to switch Responsive Slider plugins to one that I could format a text overlay on the slider the way I wanted it. I used Master Slider Pro which allowed me to do that. And everything works great on the desktop view. The only problem is the mobile responsive view does not work.
Any chance you might know a solution there? Otherwise, it may just be a sacrifice my client has to make if he’s set on having this slider!
Thanks for your help!
