Please take a look here – http://www.studiopress.com/news/genesis-2-0-resources.htm and here – http://yoast.com/schema-org-genesis-2-0/ about all of the upcoming Genesis updates.

Thanks for the reply. Having been a StudioPress user and forum moderator since the beginning I was aware of both of articles. Unfortunately while they answer some forthcoming Genesis themes elements and how to adapt a child theme to use Schema’s microdata neither article answers specifics as to Appfinite’s and Wes’ intentions and timetable for inclusion of Schema. My question still the same. To be clearer; will the Appfinite child themes for Genesis 2.0 include the features required to use Schema elements in each post type?

He’ll only be focusing on the design/basics. He is redesigning all of the themes on top of the Genesis 2.0 HTML5 Sample theme. So all of the themes will be designed on top of an HTML5 ready theme, which means you’ll get everything that comes with it. Anything beyond that will probably need to be added with your own custom code or a plugin. Some people have talked about creating plugins to handle schema, so we’ll see.

It’s all still new to a lot of us, so it will probably take some time before the Genesis Community has more info on how to do this.
