I used Widget Importer you recommended for getting widgets. However, some widgets weren’t imported because of “Site does not support” issue – http://take.ms/tzakE The main pain – absence of an email form (I really love it) and “Recent Blogposts”.

How can I still get these “unsupported” widgets in any other way? Thanks.

You did everything right, but you just needed to already have those plugins installed before you imported the widgets…..IF you wanted to use them.

Example: If you don’t have the eNews Plugin installed, then there’s no way to import the widget/plugin data since it has nothing to import to.

Here is the list of Plugins they’re using in the demo for this theme – https://appfinite.com/theme-setup/aspire-theme-setup/#plu

It looks like the only thing you’re missing is the Genesis – eNews Extended Widget. Install it, and then go to your widgets page and drag it over to the Front Page 2 widget. You’ll need to manually set it up from the widget settings since you already ran the importer. Technically you could run the other importer plugin again, but you may have duplicate content. That’s why I would manually add it in. Shouldn’t take but a sec to setup anyways.

Thanks, Eric. I’ll try to follow your advice and will post my results here because I think this issue isn’t something rare or specific to just my website/situation.

@foreveryoungster Yep he’s right, you just need to install the plugin first. What the error is telling you is that the eNews plugin is missing so it’s unable to import the content for it.

In the future, just make sure you already have the plugins you want to use installed first and then you can import the files.

Thank’s again! Eric’s advice worked for me and now all widgets are installed successfully.

Wes, I think it would be useful to mention this advice on the page where you talk about .wie files. That would help to avoid confusing for all new customers, in my opinion.

I agree. It should already be included/explained on the Docs page, but if it’s not clear enough I’ll make sure and add more info so it’s a little easier to understand.

BTW, Once you get your site finished let me know in the Showcase Forum or send us a link on the Contact Page so I can promote it on Twitter, Facebook, etc.

If you run into any other issues just let us know.
