      Dear Wes,

You truly created a great theme! All the options I need to create the websites just as I need them to be are available in your theme. Thank you!

I’m having a little bit of difficulty with the size of the Slider and the images for the Slider. When I look at the theme demo, the Slider images have a size of 1152 x 400 px but somehow on site they don’t:

I changed the size in the Slider Settings to the right size. And what I notice is the two arrows on the sides are not matching the image. The images I’ve chosen are the same size, but still they won’t show completely in the Slider.

Do you know how I can fix this?

      Thank you in advance!

      Sincerely,

      Hashim

It’s recommended to use Regenerate Thumbnails when changing image sizes. You can download and run the plugin and it will adjust all of your images.

          Dear Eric,

Thank you! I used the plugin and the images show in the right size now.

This question is now completely answered.

I’d like to ask you one other question which also fits the title of this topic.

Is it possible to place a Text widget on the left of the slider? I noticed that this amazing theme has got Home Feature 1 & 2. That would be perfect. Is it possible to place the Slider widget in one of those Home Features so I can put a Text widget next to the slider? And maybe also change the two widget areas so that the slider takes about sixty five percent of the width and the remaining width goes to the text. Or maybe you’ve got a better solution for this. Also what do I need to do to change the size of the slider to fit into that widget area?

          Thank you in advance!

          Sincerely,

          Hashim

Yes it’s possible, but you’ll have to either code it yourself, or hire a developer to code it for you since this falls under “customization“.

If you want to try and do it yourself, I’d do a search on how to create widget areas in Genesis first. You’ll need to know how to do that before getting started. After that, you can add the necessary code to the home.php file right next to the slider area. This may be difficult if you’re not familiar with php, html, and css….so that’s why I usually recommend hiring someone for customizations.

              Dear Eric,

              Thank you for your advice!

I purchased the Genesis Extender Plugin and managed to adjust the static homepage so that there’s a text widget next to the slider, like this:

              http://aziemafatima.com

Don’t mind the colors and other stuff because I’m still working on it and haven’t launched the site officially yet. The only thing I need to know is what the ideal size is for the slider and the pictures with the design as how I’ve got it right now. Do you know how I can find out?

I’ve got another question about the navigation menu, but I’ll start a new topic for it to keep it organized on the forum.

              Thank you for your help!

              Sincerely,

              Hashim

You can use a measuring tool which can be downloaded as an extension for your browser. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc all have extensions that you can download which will allow you to measure pixels on the page.

It appears to be around 752px
