I put Genesis Responsive Slider into Slider widget area, and created a post with a 920×400 featured image categorized under slider.
The other widgets display selected drag/drop content. Please advise how to feature the slider widget area.
This is for http://10minutemedia.com/
Thank you.
Did you drag the slider widget into the widget area labeled “Slider”? That’s all you would need to do for it to appear. Keep in mind, the theme you’re using is 1140px wide, so if you want your slider to fit perfectly in the center, then you’d need to change the width from 920px to 1140px. Use the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin anytime you make changes to your image sizes (it will instantly resize them to your settings.)
Here are a couple video tutorials for installing the slider –

Eric,
Yes, I did drag the slider widget into the widget area labeled “Slider”.
I wish I could upload a print screen image of the genesis responsive slider plug in in the theme slider widget area to show you.
Since I did it as you said and youtube demonstrated, is there any reason why the slider area does not display (even if the featured image was not sized correctly, a slider should still appear on the homepage).
Ideas why the slider would not display if Genesis slider plug in has been drag/drop correctly into the theme slider widget area?
Thanks!
Do you have your Homepage setup properly? If you have it set to show a certain page then the homepage widgets won’t show up. Take a look here and make sure you have everything setup – https://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-setup-the-home-and-blog-page/
The slider and the other home widgets will only show when the home.php template is used. The home.php template will show up by default as the homepage unless you change something in your Reading Settings in your admin.

Thanks for your response, Eric.
I tried that. I changed Settings, Reading, Front Page displays “Your Latest Posts”.
I also changed Genesis theme settings to full page (no sidebar). Here is an image of the result: http://10minutemedia.com/epik-print-screen
When I add another post under Slider category
Grow Your Income post doesn’t behave like a slider. It just looks like a large image in the body of the post. When I add another post with image under Slider category, I see it added above Grow Your Income.
I also double-checked that Genesis Responsive Slider has been drag/dropped into Slider widget.
Any other ideas why the slider is not working?
Thank you!
Not sure what it could be, did you want me to login to your site and check for you? If you do, just create a temporary username and I can login and take look.
