Hi – I want my genesis slider image to be centered over the Welcome Feature 1-3 widgets. I found past posts that said if you make the image width 1152 px and center the image in it that it should center, but it is still aligning left (I did change the slider settings to 1152 px width).
It’s recommended to use the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin when changing or adding image sizes. You can download and run the plugin and it will adjust all of your images.
yes, I did previously run the Regenerate Thumbnails and it’s still not working. Does it make any difference if the image is imported as center aligned or left aligned? I think right now it is center-aligned.
Your image probably isn’t big enough to scale to 1152px. Try and create an image as close as possible so that it scales correctly. If you add an image that is too small, WordPress won’t stretch it to 1152px. After you do that, make sure and run the plugin again just in case.
I don’t think that’s it. I imported the original image to Photoshop and resized it to 1152 px with white space on the sides, then exported it at that size and imported a new image to WordPress. So I’m 99% sure it’s the right size.
You may just need to reupload it in the featured image area, and make sure that WP uploads the full size of the image. Sometimes WP will shrink or crop it, so that should definitely fix it by reuploading it.
That is very strange, it was still using the old image even though I had changed it to use the new one. I deleted the old image from the media gallery, then deleted and re-added the new one to the slider and it is working now. Thanks for your help!
