the case of the disappearing header image

A mystery for you to solve…

Had a call from a former client who said their slider images and header image disappeared recently on the Genesis child theme “Equilibre”. They haven’t updated the Genesis Framework (running 2.4.2) or WordPress in awhile (running 4.8.5).

I was able to fix the slider images (they had somehow reverted to the former URL where I had originally built the site), and I thought the same approach would make the header image reappear. No such luck. There is no custom header option on that theme, so I added the URL to the header logo right to the theme editor. Worked no problem on another test site I have running Equilibre, didn’t work on the client’s site. Image/logo option is checked in settings.

Any ideas? Is it possible that simply updating WP and Genesis will fix the issue? I haven’t updated because I don’t know if they’ve backed up the site yet. But thought I would ask for ideas..
