Hi Wes and everyone 🙂
I’d like to start by saying how much I’m enjoying using the Epik theme – the possibilities seem endless. This is my first foray into WordPress, Studiopress and Appfinite, and I’m finding it all very exciting.
I’m at the stage where I’m now planning out the design of my Epik site, and as a traditionally trained graphic designer, I decided to look for the underlying grid, so that I could wireframe it.
However, I’m having problems with finding a unifying grid. Some people have said that it uses the Golden Grid System at 1152px, but the largest media query is set to 1180px. Also, I thought that in GGS the gutters used relative units (ems) so that they change in relation to the font size. The multi-column classes seem to use bootstrap, but when applied to the main content area, this doesn’t relate to the gutter between the main content and the sidebar. Unlike the bootstrap columns, the widgetised homepage has different gutters between 2, 3 and 4 column groups.
This is in no way a criticism, because I think the design looks fab, it’s just that the Sheldon in me is looking for an underlying structure. I really just want to be able to slap down a grid in Sketch, Photoshop or Illustrator so that I can start playing around.
Hope someone can help
