      Hello.

I am using the Legacy theme on my site: http://authoritynutrition.com/

I want to upgrade the child theme to be compliant with the new HTML and all of that stuff. Can you please explain exactly *which* files I need to change?

I plan on doing it manually, since I’ve already customized my theme quite a bit and I want to take advantage of the new mark-up without changing the appearance.

I read this from the sticky:

“The proper way to update an already customized version of a theme is to do it manually.”

I understand that, but I need to know which files need to be updated. The stylesheet? The .php files? Any specific ones, or all of them?

      Thanks.

The functions.php, style.css, home.php, page_portfolio.php, and they’ve added a “lib” folder now which contains the prettyphoto code (IF you’re using that).

If I were you, I’d try doing that all on a test site before attempting to do this on your main site…..just in case you make a mistake somewhere and it takes down the entire site. I’ll be honest, it’s not easy if you’ve made a lot of changes, but if you haven’t then it shouldn’t be that bad….as long as you know some of the basics of PHP, CSS, HTML etc.
