Wes, Google wants to know the URL of my XML sitemap. I am assuming that Step 1 is to create an archive page, and step 2 is to tell Google the URL of that archive page. But I also assume that the archive page is HTML, not the XML file type that Google is looking for.
So how does a Skope-on-Genesis user generate what Google is looking for?
Genesis (the framework) is what handles the Sitemaps, not child themes (Skope in your case).
For a basic sitemap, you would use the archive page. If you need an XML version you’ll have to find a plugin as Genesis doesn’t do this. Brian Gardner recommends – “Google XML Sitemaps” – http://www.briangardner.com/wordpress-plugins/
Thanks very much, Wes. Eventually it will become more clear what is child-related vs. what is Genesis-related.
Much appreciated.
