Wes,
Because I’ve made changes to my child theme I didn’t want to lose, I added the code above.
But it didn’t fix the thumbnail issues.
Thanks.
Checking in. Are they any updates on the woo commerce thumbnail issues?
Thanks.
Ok. Sounds great
Wondering if you know about the changes woo commerce recently made in their new version 3.0 release that’s affecting some theme’s product gallery images.

Thanks Wes, I’d already figured it out.
But I just want to acknowledge and appreciate you for how hard you work to support the questions and needs of your customers. You go the extra mile to research questions and bring us answers. You stay up late in the night (Sometimes 1:00 am, 2:00 am….) to answer client questions. You just go above and beyond. And for all of that, you deserve our praise.
Thanks for all you do.
Clara.
Hi,
I’m trying to figure out how to show my product categories on the first page of my store instead of all the individual products.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
ClaraNartey.com/shop
Thanks.
Clara.
Thanks Wes.
I got this message when I installed the wooCommerce plugin.
“Your theme does not declare WooCommerce support – Please read our integration guide or check out our Storefront theme which is totally free to download and designed specifically for use with WooCommerce.”
and
“WooCommerce Stripe – The minimum PHP version required for this plugin is 5.6.0. You are running 5.4.43.”
What do I do? I thought Aspire theme is compatible with wooCommerce.and PHP?
Thanks.
Clara.
Thank you.
Along the same lines as @derekalvarez’s question – how to you reduce the top and bottom margins in the front page widgets?
Also, I notice the bottom of the title/logo image is not aligned with the bottom of the nav bar.
I uploaded the title image and the header image is no longer there.
What I want with the header image is a thin border separating the header/menu area from the lower part of the page. Since I didn’t know how to make the border stay at the bottom, I put white space on top so the border remains on the bottom.
Yes, I did add the logo and then the header image with CSS but when I do that the header image disappears.
WhenI tried to hide the logo so that I’ll just use the background image, that didn’t work either because it hides both the logo and the header.
Here’s a link to the header image and to the logo .
Thanks, Wes. That solved it.
I have a question about the header and logo. When I upload a header and a logo image at the same time, the header image disappears. The dimension of the logo I’m using is 200 by 44px and the header is 1900 x 300px. I’m only able to have one of them at a time, not both.
Do you why that is? Thanks.
Wes,
The background color in the code you posted above, which is the same code I have, is red. But I don’t get a red background for my submenus on mobile devices. Also when I changed the font color from white to black it didn’t change anything.
Thanks for helping me with this.
Thanks Wes,
The website is claranartey.com
Shikha,
Go to your WP Dashboard —> Genesis —> Theme Settings then scroll down to Content Archives and for “Display”, choose Entry Excerpts.
I hope that helps.
Thanks for responding Jason. I use the simple visual text editor plugin.
I added this code that you have here to my CSS but it didn’t seem to change a thing.
Thanks Eric. I was hoping there was a way I could possibly specify which category ids to include on the portfolio page so I don’t repeat everything on the blog on the portfolio page as well.
Thanks Eric. I did read the tutorial and I understand about using categories to specify what you want to show on the portfolio page.
I’ve got one category (blog) that has posts which I want to show on the portfolio page but I don’t want to exclude those posts from the blog page. I don’t want to create a separate category for the posts that will be going to the portfolio page because they’ll then be excluded from the blog page.
I was wondering if I could use something apart from categories to filter the posts that will go to the portfolio page.
Here’s the link.
Thanks
Thanks so much Wes. No, I’m not going to try changing colors anymore 🙂
The most recent edit was to comment out the featured image appearing on top of blog posts.
I did send it already. Let me know if you can’t find it. I’ll look through my emails.
sure, feel free to take a look.
Widgets – not Midgets
Thanks Wes. I just figured it out a couple of minutes ago
Thanks Eric
Thanks Eric. I guess I have to look elsewhere for a solution.
Karla, I see you’ve bolded the font on your menu bar and also your site title. It makes it so much easier to read. How did you do that?
Thanks
Thanks, Wes. I got it to work on the laptop but on a mobile device, you still have the black font on a black background for the menu.
Also what do you plan to do with the header when you scroll down? Currently the background changes to Black, did you want to keep the background Black and have the text change to White? Or did you want the entire header background to stay White at all times (including when scrolling down)?
I’ll like to change the background to a different color-possibly f5d453 – and the text change to white when you scroll. Which line of code do I need to edit?
Thanks
Thanks. I’ll try some of them out.
Thanks Wes, I can’t thank you enough.
I have to go back and redo all the stuff that I’d previously done – bummer.
But at least I have the site to work on again.
Can you suggest a PHP editor for me to use?
I’ve never used FTP to edit files, I’ve only used it to download files.
Once again, thank you. I really do appreciate all you do.
Thank goodness we know what the issue was with the FTP.
Well, what started this discussion in the first place was, I’d messed up my themes.php file by copying the footer info from my current website to the new one.
Will call and let you know
I’m able to connect to FTP using FileZilla and my login. I just tried it.
I don’t know. What do you suggest I do?
I understand. Tomorrow is fine.
I copied and pasted the footer from my old website to this one. That’s all I did.
I’ll have to check on creating an FTP login. Don’t think I have one.
I tried to edit the footer. I think I was in themes.php the last time I was in the admin section
I’m not sure what happened. Aspire Pro is no longer working on my website. I get a white screen when I try to log back in. I had to call my hosting company to switch out the theme before I could get access to my admin panel. Could you please help.
Thanks.
Ok. That makes sense.
I noticed that when I remove the image for the header area and scroll the text color changes to black which is the same color as the background so it doesn’t show.
I know you asked earlier what I wanted to do with that.
I’ll like to change the color of the background and the text color when you scroll. What’s the code to use for that?
I see it works. Thanks. Why didn’t it work for me? Did you see that I had the same code under the section, I’d created for it?
What email address should I use for creating the login for you?
