Hi @Eric
I have thumbnail size set to medium (300*300) in Genesis->Theme Settings. However, if I analyze my homepage (It’s FOSS), I see that those thumbnails have the same size as the original featured image.
This makes the homepage quite heavy, over several MBs. On Pingdom, it has a score of 71/100 which in my opinion, is poor. It used to have over 90.
So, there is an increase in page load time and it is significant.
Till last week, I couldn’t even login to your forum to reply.
Anyways, I ran a Google Page Speed test on your demo website, I should have done it before buying the theme. You demo site has a desktop page speed of 49/100. When I use it on my website, it is 33/100.
Before this, I was using Focus theme from Genesis and desktop page speed was 72/100.
This is a disaster for me and I can even see a traffic fall because of increased page load time.
This is an issue you must tackle.
Problem fixed. Thanks.
I have a new problem, as mentioned by several readers. But I’ll open a new thread for that.
I don’t see the option to mark the thread as solved, so please feel free to do it on my behalf.
Exactly which file should I edit by the way?
Hello,
Yes. I am logged in with Admin rights. In fact, I am the admin.
I am using Web Synthesis and I just found out that they disable editing the Themes’ editor and other files.
The only way to edit it is through FTP and I am going to try that.
There is no such option for me under Appearance.
How do you access functions.php in Genesis framework? I don’t see this option for Genesis theme.
