Thanks Eric.
I’d actually already seen that post while searching Google but then lost the url and couldn’t find it when searching the forum so thanks for the link.
I tried adding priority to the genesis_do_nav as discussed but it would either sit above the slider from 0-11 and then jump below all content at 12.
In the end I added a priority of 1 to epik_home_loop_helper_top in home.php and it’s sorted it straight away.
add_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'epik_home_loop_helper_top',1 );
Thanks for your help.
Thanks David & Eric. I had the site set to static page. I’m sure I knew this already but forgot.
What I do is after I’ve finished the site I disable unused widgets and rename the used ones so it shows “Don’t change” in the Dashboard so that they make more sense to the client and there’s less chance of them fiddling about and breaking things.
Genesis has a default layout but you can override this on a page by page basis.
Left hand menu > Genesis > Theme Settings > Default Layout
or
Left hand menu > Pages > Edit the page you want to change > Scroll down and change > Layout Settings
If this isn’t visible… Scroll to the Top and under where it says Howdy <yourname> is a Screen Options Tab. click this and ensure Layout Settings is ticked.
Have you clicked on Edit page, scrolled down and changed the layout Settings?
Ok,
here is the response from StudioPress:
Thanks for contacting us about this. Unfortunately this is because the coins are using inline-block styling, which is not supported in IE7.
We do not have a good solution for this because we are working on being web forward. I know that a lot of sites are concerned about IE7 support for various reasons. It is theoretically possible to override the inline-block styling and use old fashioned floats instead.
Unfortunately, we are not able to provide assistance with this, as it will require customization to your theme’s code. Your customization question would be a great question for the community forums. I’m sure many users would benefit from the collective feedback the community can give you. You can open a thread here: http://studiopress.com/forums/. If you don’t have an account, simply register and a password will be emailed to you.
While I can understand that we need to move forward in terms of design, I think killing support for IE 7 is a little too early.
I tried to run the demo on BrowserShots but it’s failing on Can’t read Robot.txt so I can’t test the same site so I ran it with my own hand built theme at http://digitalessence.net/ and the issue remains.

I will now submit a ticket with SP.
Thanks.
Hi,
you say it’s appeared on the left but you would like it on the left as in demo.
I take it you mean the right?
Have you changed the page layout to content-sidebar rather than sidebar-content?
Do you have a link to the page we can see?
Also, if Feature 1 & 2 aren’t in use, the space used should collapse as even though there’s no content, it’s still pushing the Featured posts down.
doh.
Of course. What an idiot. I’ve changed them all to alignleft and a width of 170 and it’s sorted.
Can’t believe I hadn’t thought of that. Must be the heat melting my brain.
Thanks Eric.
Thanks Eric. I’ll probably use a child theme anyway out of habit.
