Wes, I cleared cache. And yet…would you mind taking a look on a small screen? See what happens :SJune 5, 2014 at 12:27 pm in reply to: Image home feature 4 not scaling on responsive mode (smallest screens) #12573
The images of my site aren’t yet rescaling after adding that code to my css.
Seen on Galaxy SII.

I have it at wpengine, and I think it’s a pretty good host 😉
In any case, I think there’s nothing we can do, this site requires large images and large images weigh.
I might try at staging area the plugin Smushit.
PS: The site is finished 🙂 Doesn’t it look ‘finished’ to you? 😀
Hi Wes, I tried modifying photo size, cropping it a little bit and now I think the head doesn’t get cut by main menu. THANKS and close thread 😉April 29, 2014 at 5:46 am in reply to: Image home feature 4 not scaling on responsive mode (smallest screens) #12000
Hi Wes, delving deeper into this…I’ve realized that it only happens when there’s 1 comment. When there are none or more than 1 comment, the entry comments link works. I tried disabling plugins in case of some odd conflict, but it didn’t change. So could you please be so kind to add one comment to one of your demo posts and let me know if the same thing happens on your side?
I’ve checked, but nothing weird on comment settings page, the same settings of live site.
I checked yesterday and I couldn’t see any comment number function at all on your demo. Now I see it, and on your demo works…do I have to update any file on my side?April 28, 2014 at 5:40 pm in reply to: Image home feature 4 not scaling on responsive mode (smallest screens) #11982
There was an extra div indeed, but removing it didn’t help, the image of home feature 4 isn’t resized on small screens. I have tried with my husband’s cellphone, and with his cellphone, all images didn’t resize.April 28, 2014 at 4:06 am in reply to: Modifying color of the home feature arrow of just one area? #11943April 27, 2014 at 9:15 am in reply to: Modifying color of the home feature arrow of just one area? #11923
Thanks, I meant if it’s possible to change the color of that arrow on just one specific area of homepage, while keeping the rest as default (=orange). If you choose squareone orange theme, arrow is orange which is ok, but in the homepage area where background is orange, in that specific area arrow can’t be seen. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Wes, solved! Thanks!
When do u think you’ll be rolling out this uploader feature?
Thanks!February 26, 2014 at 12:01 pm in reply to: Does the 'redirect' custom field work anymore? (portfolio images > custom url) #10996
I’d say 100%
How embarrassing 🙂
All set and working nicely,
Thanks a lotFebruary 26, 2014 at 8:07 am in reply to: Does the 'redirect' custom field work anymore? (portfolio images > custom url) #10975
That removed the pagination but the items from page 2 weren’t showing anymore. I mean all items showing in just one single page.
Thanks in advance,
ElenaFebruary 26, 2014 at 7:37 am in reply to: Does the 'redirect' custom field work anymore? (portfolio images > custom url) #10969
The only thread I find about this is: http://appfinite.com/topic/portfolio-unlink-photopost-title/
There I mention about the redirect, but to be honest I don’t have any plugin or I didn’t have any with redirection. So I don’t really know where it comes from, but it does work for previous portfolio items and not for the new ones.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

That fixed it, but still that user tells me there’s sth else looking weird: https://twitter.com/JAIROAMAYA/status/325902625625210880/photo/1
🙂April 6, 2013 at 5:54 am in reply to: How to modify the sidebar of the category/tag/archive page? #3596
OK! I will!
Ok Eric, that’s good to know: if the problem is my computer then it’s not a problem…because what I want is everyone else to see it correctly 🙂
All settled 🙂
Look at the font (which I see on all your themes on my macbook with Chrome, and which I don’t like at all, it’s hard to read and it makes it look like a Themeforest theme not an Appfinite cool sleek theme :D). I’m talking about same browser. Google Chrome on Mac OS. It doesn’t happen with Firefox, IE…etc.
It’s on several places…arg, me no like at all that condensed font.
Thanks!April 1, 2013 at 10:49 am in reply to: Automatic resizing of featured image at portfolio? #3491
The plugin says it successfully regenerated all media thumbnails, however I didn’t see any change whatsoever at portfolio page (I cleared cache)…so I’m working on each logo image individually on my desktop :S
– Thanks! It works: now image doesn’t link to post 🙂
– What I did is to use the custom redirect url below post to add the client url, this way if people click on the title, it’ll redirect them 301 to client’s web.
– I’m really liking so far the Genesis + Epik theme experience but imho they should offer better communication channels with their community and customers. I have worked in the knowledge management sector and that forum is the opposite to any best practice ever 😀
Well, thanks! You can close this thread 😉April 1, 2013 at 4:50 am in reply to: My main menu appears below the logo, not on its right #3487
Yep Eric, I had already noticed it, so problem solved, thread closed 😉
(I tried adding a redirect url to clients url and it worked but yet people can click on the image and take them to my ’empty post’. I have browsed Studiopress forum already for this. By the way it’s terribly hard to navigate through information at that forum…someone should tell them! :))March 31, 2013 at 3:13 pm in reply to: Automatic resizing of featured image at portfolio? #3473March 31, 2013 at 1:00 pm in reply to: My main menu appears below the logo, not on its right #3471
Yeah, it might be the W WP icon or sth or reading too fast at this time of the day 🙂
Ok, I found the problem, of course my mistake: if you take a look at my code you’ll see there’s an additional -and wrong- semicolon. Removed.
Thanks Eric for dropping by, I re-read and all things settled 🙂
Concerning fonts: it’s the same browser: it’s Chrome, same version, 2 different macs (iMac and macbook, but as I say same browser, Chrome, and version) For any reason whatsoever at all your themes on my macbook Chrome: the main navigation font, h2 at welcome feature areas, copyright text, page/post titles titles…they look like Open Sans condensed or maybe some serif font, I can’t really tell. But they don’t look sleek at all and are hard to read.
Of course the site fonts are different on IE and Firefox, but they look ok to me. What I mean it’s same browser.
I can provide snapshots if you want.
Thanks! 😉March 31, 2013 at 6:18 am in reply to: My main menu appears below the logo, not on its right #3467
Thanks a lot for your encouraging message!
I changed it to what you said but I can’t see it (I cleared browser cache just in case): http://cl.ly/image/2z3H2v2e090P
Guys, that line was a joke because I was opening up a lot of threads!!! I think you misunderstood me completely and to be honest, I feel a lot of aggressiveness towards my questions. I have NEVER complained about Wes or the support!!! Please keep calm, there aren’t non-verbal cues on written answers, and the same way you misunderstood my line, I can now think you are being too much rude with me.
1) I see a support forum
2) I don’t force Wes to support for free. If we had to pay, I would. No doubt. Or just do as Gravity Forms with their plugin and they do it very nicely, put a more expensive tag price on the theme that includes support and guidance. Or 2 options.
3) I’d donate too
4) The question on google fonts: you closed the reply but I still had my doubts for I’m using other themes with google fonts and they render the fonts the same across browsers, and of course with the same browser too. So I wanted to make my point and question to ask you if, taking into account this observation, you can rule out 100% that “nothing can be done”.
So please, I am a customer of yours just like anyone else. You have to assume there might be doubts.
Thanks for making me feel like a piece of shitty customer.March 30, 2013 at 4:30 am in reply to: My main menu appears below the logo, not on its right #3454
Sorry for my English.
Wes told me how to change the size of fonts and how to make a current menu item active (orange epik), and I did. However now with the menu on header-right the current menu item active seems to be gone, so where can I edit that?
Thanks!March 29, 2013 at 3:45 pm in reply to: My main menu appears below the logo, not on its right #3447
Thanks it did the trick, since I’m not a designer nor I use CSS in my work -as you may have assumed – (and I’m so used to themes for CSS idiots) now the size and current menu item can be tweaked somewhere in line…’header-widget’?
sorry I posted the question without title!March 29, 2013 at 1:51 pm in reply to: My main menu appears below the logo, not on its right #3439
Thanks for your patience and reply.
I just did that: http://cl.ly/image/2q330p1H0D2p
And this is how it looks: http://www.testinglabs.es/elenabenitoruiz/
Thanks a lot, when I read your reply, I thought: “of course, what was I thinking?” That’s the problem of working too late on this stuff, blood doesn’t get to your brain.
Thanks for the links, believe me, I have been studying them…
Thanks Eric, I hadn’t missed them.
You see, SEO doesn’t seem to be an exact science, and after outsourcing with 5 SEO consultants and agencies, from Spain and the US…the thing is: they say different things each time. The guys I’m working with now say that homepage content shouldn’t look empty to bots
I’ll assume the bot will index feature/welcome widgets titles and content.
So I’m happy with that,
Actually in the epik orange part of the css that current menu item wasn’t there (or I missed it). So I put it and it works.
Genesis/Studiopress claim to have a good SEO, however a bad genesis child theme choice can harm SEO too.
So let’s wrap up:
1) Google indexes homepage first, domain + whatever they find on homepage = best combination: and mainly keyword density, image alts, etc. That is homepage content. QUESTION: are Epik homepage widgets content indexed by search engine bots? Have you tested it?
I don’t think that with SEO title and SEO description will be enough for SE bots [add_action( ‘genesis_meta’, ‘epik_home_genesis_meta’ );]
2) I could add some text on the homepage that loads before the widgets but I can’t because there’s no “homepage” Page as such…only a home.php that loads a sidebar with widgets.
3) And yet I like the design of homepage.
So could I use a full width page as a static frontpage , and have another page load the widget structure found at home.php?
So homepage loads a page with text and images, etc which is better for the seo of my domain and the home.php actually works for instance for a ‘Services’ page or sth like that?
4) All your themes have widgetized homepages?
Ok thanks Wes, I will!
Well, congrats, they look really nice.
So the cloud, clock icons…they don’t come from a specific set somewhere, you made them? They are really cool.
I got it working, it was my lack of competence, as I suspected. I forgot to set it as the secondary navigation too!
Well, my question is now -if anyone can help me, because this is not a theme’s issue-: how could I add a smaller logo in that sticky menu?
I really appreciate your help
I understand your point of view and agree with the furniture metaphor, but still I think there should be more tutorials (just like the homepage as frontpage tut) and directions. For instance: credits on the icons used. I like the cloud, clock, etc icons…Just in case we want to use the same ones, where could we buy them or download them -if free?
Thanks for your help and fast response, that’s above standard
