Wes, I cleared cache. And yet…would you mind taking a look on a small screen? See what happens :S

    Hi Wes
I have it at wpengine, and I think it’s a pretty good host ๐Ÿ˜‰
In any case, I think there’s nothing we can do, this site requires large images and large images weigh.
I might try at staging area the plugin Smushit.

PS: The site is finished ๐Ÿ™‚ Doesn’t it look ‘finished’ to you? ๐Ÿ˜€

Hi Wes, delving deeper into this…I’ve realized that it only happens when there’s 1 comment. When there are none or more than 1 comment, the entry comments link works. I tried disabling plugins in case of some odd conflict, but it didn’t change. So could you please be so kind to add one comment to one of your demo posts and let me know if the same thing happens on your side?

I’ve checked, but nothing weird on comment settings page, the same settings of live site.
I checked yesterday and I couldn’t see any comment number function at all on your demo. Now I see it, and on your demo works…do I have to update any file on my side?

There was an extra div indeed, but removing it didn’t help, the image of home feature 4 isn’t resized on small screens. I have tried with my husband’s cellphone, and with his cellphone, all images didn’t resize.

    Hi Wes
Thanks, I meant if it’s possible to change the color of that arrow on just one specific area of homepage, while keeping the rest as default (=orange). If you choose squareone orange theme, arrow is orange which is ok, but in the homepage area where background is orange, in that specific area arrow can’t be seen. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Wes
The only thread I find about this is: http://appfinite.com/topic/portfolio-unlink-photopost-title/
There I mention about the redirect, but to be honest I don’t have any plugin or I didn’t have any with redirection. So I don’t really know where it comes from, but it does work for previous portfolio items and not for the new ones.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Eric,

Look at the font (which I see on all your themes on my macbook with Chrome, and which I don’t like at all, it’s hard to read and it makes it look like a Themeforest theme not an Appfinite cool sleek theme :D). I’m talking about same browser. Google Chrome on Mac OS. It doesn’t happen with Firefox, IE…etc.

It’s on several places…arg, me no like at all that condensed font.

    Thanks!

    Hi Wes

    – Thanks! It works: now image doesn’t link to post ๐Ÿ™‚

    – What I did is to use the custom redirect url below post to add the client url, this way if people click on the title, it’ll redirect them 301 to client’s web.

    – I’m really liking so far the Genesis + Epik theme experience but imho they should offer better communication channels with their community and customers. I have worked in the knowledge management sector and that forum is the opposite to any best practice ever ๐Ÿ˜€

Well, thanks! You can close this thread ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks Eric for dropping by, I re-read and all things settled ๐Ÿ™‚

Concerning fonts: it’s the same browser: it’s Chrome, same version, 2 different macs (iMac and macbook, but as I say same browser, Chrome, and version) For any reason whatsoever at all your themes on my macbook Chrome: the main navigation font, h2 at welcome feature areas, copyright text, page/post titles titles…they look like Open Sans condensed or maybe some serif font, I can’t really tell. But they don’t look sleek at all and are hard to read.

Of course the site fonts are different on IE and Firefox, but they look ok to me. What I mean it’s same browser.

I can provide snapshots if you want.

    Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Guys, that line was a joke because I was opening up a lot of threads!!! I think you misunderstood me completely and to be honest, I feel a lot of aggressiveness towards my questions. I have NEVER complained about Wes or the support!!! Please keep calm, there aren’t non-verbal cues on written answers, and the same way you misunderstood my line, I can now think you are being too much rude with me.

    1) I see a support forum

    2) I don’t force Wes to support for free. If we had to pay, I would. No doubt. Or just do as Gravity Forms with their plugin and they do it very nicely, put a more expensive tag price on the theme that includes support and guidance. Or 2 options.

    3) I’d donate too

    4) The question on google fonts: you closed the reply but I still had my doubts for I’m using other themes with google fonts and they render the fonts the same across browsers, and of course with the same browser too. So I wanted to make my point and question to ask you if, taking into account this observation, you can rule out 100% that “nothing can be done”.

So please, I am a customer of yours just like anyone else. You have to assume there might be doubts.

Thanks for making me feel like a piece of shitty customer.

    Hi Eric

Thanks it did the trick, since I’m not a designer nor I use CSS in my work -as you may have assumed – (and I’m so used to themes for CSS idiots) now the size and current menu item can be tweaked somewhere in line…’header-widget’?

    Hi Eric

Thanks Eric, I hadn’t missed them.

You see, SEO doesn’t seem to be an exact science, and after outsourcing with 5 SEO consultants and agencies, from Spain and the US…the thing is: they say different things each time. The guys I’m working with now say that homepage content shouldn’t look empty to bots

I’ll assume the bot will index feature/welcome widgets titles and content.

    So I’m happy with that,

    Thanks!

    Hi Wes

Genesis/Studiopress claim to have a good SEO, however a bad genesis child theme choice can harm SEO too.

    So let’s wrap up:

    1) Google indexes homepage first, domain + whatever they find on homepage = best combination: and mainly keyword density, image alts, etc. That is homepage content. QUESTION: are Epik homepage widgets content indexed by search engine bots? Have you tested it?

I don’t think that with SEO title and SEO description will be enough for SE bots [add_action( ‘genesis_meta’, ‘epik_home_genesis_meta’ );]

    2) I could add some text on the homepage that loads before the widgets but I can’t because there’s no “homepage” Page as such…only a home.php that loads a sidebar with widgets.

    3) And yet I like the design of homepage.

So could I use a full width page as a static frontpage , and have another page load the widget structure found at home.php?

So homepage loads a page with text and images, etc which is better for the seo of my domain and the home.php actually works for instance for a ‘Services’ page or sth like that?

    4) All your themes have widgetized homepages?

    Thanks!

I understand your point of view and agree with the furniture metaphor, but still I think there should be more tutorials (just like the homepage as frontpage tut) and directions. For instance: credits on the icons used. I like the cloud, clock, etc icons…Just in case we want to use the same ones, where could we buy them or download them -if free?

Thanks for your help and fast response, that’s above standard
