Case closed Wes. See the last post in the thread regarding the removal of a line of code in your functions.php
I ended up completely removing the line in functions.php
$_SERVER[‘HTTPS’] = false; as apparently I have learned that it’s not necessary.
Would recommend anyone who is thinking about SSL to check their functions.php file for this line of code and deep six it before they have SSL installed.
I think there’s other ways to code this from some of the articles I found.
Think I found the offending line of code in the functions.php file,
$_SERVER[‘HTTPS’] = false;
I changed to true and testing out good so far.
I viewed the blocked content that is causing CSS not to load using Google Developer tools and here’s the offending scrips according to Google – hope this helps for a fix. Any fix would be above my pay grade unfortunately.
leyla-najma.com/:32 Mixed Content: The page at ‘https://leyla-najma.com/’ was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure stylesheet ‘http://leyla-najma.com/wp-includes/css/dashicons.min.css?ver=4.7.2’. This request has been blocked; the content must be served over HTTPS.

Suffice to say that there is a degree of urgency, so anyone with suggestions or a fix – please, please reply
For anyone experiencing a similar issue a temporary work around is a plug in called simple ssl.
Unfortunately if you need to have your site verified by Google this may not be adequate.
I found a call out for google fonts that was calling http instead of https and changed that and am still looking for other areas but if there’s anything that is associated with the logic in your code, that’s above my pay grade I’m afraid.
One of the things that happens that may help you troubleshoot is that when adding SSL the standard process from my point of view is to
1. Change in WP Setting the two site URL’s from http to https However with inSynch installed this is not possible. The changes when attempted will kick you out of wordpress but then when trying to log back in using https://sitename.com/wp-login.php the page will error out with a too many redirects error. Again this does not happen when we switched to the wp default theme. So something is causing those redirects. That’s one thing that may assist you.
Wes
Just went through couple hours of debug with Host Gator and the very last thing we tried was switching from the inSynch to the 2015 theme and lo and behold all worked perfectly, so I would say that inSynch version 1.0 is not SSL compatible at this time. Is this something you think you can fix and I hope that you will or do I need to look at a different theme. I hope you can fix it because I have 4 other sites running inSynch that I might need SSL on in the future.
Hi Wes,
Still have the Firefox issue at
http://krisannehall.com.
Any additional suggestions?
Dan
Any chance Wes you can help me close out this issue with Firefox as described above?
Just took note of of the fact that it is only in Firefox where there is an issue between home-bottom-widget and home-bottom sidebar. Does this make the problem insurmountable?
In Chrome, all is well, but in Firefox and IE it’s an issue.
Thanks in advance for helping. Please advise.
Dan
Hey Wes,
Thanks for the reply.
Was able to get the shadow below the slider no problem.
The other adjustment to add float:left to the home-bottom widget didn’t give me the same results as what you show in your screen shot.
It justified the text properly but the entire widget area shifted to the left which is now caused the removal of space between the home-bottom-widget and home bottom sidebar.
Any suggestions or ideas why I didn’t get the same results as you?
One last thing that I think I’d like to ask for some help on is to reduce the amount of space between the top of the slider and the header area.
Not sure if I should muck with the header size of 360 by 164 for something slimmer? Or if would be better to shift the entire header area down towards the slider a notch, or two.
thanks in advance.
Dan
As mentioned I did not find the option for removing the title in customization. Wasn’t there. Can’t follow. I overcame the issue by centering the site title and description. It’s workable.
http://filmmakersvillage.com/krisannev2/
Thanks Andy but the option for removing site title and tag line is not available.
I have checked on other sites where I’m using the inSynch theme and it’s not there either.
Are you seeing it on your end? I do remember it used to be present before Genesis ported over to the new customization methods.
pretty frustrated.
When browsing WordFence security the only allowed user login was from me. All other attempts trying to hack the admin account (which is non existent) were blocked by WordFence.
And as mentioned FTP shows last mod of the functions.php was on 12/14. I’ll leave it for now but if I learn anything from this I will share for the benefit of others.
Agreed. I just scanned with scuri and no malware was found and there is no admin account and I’m using a very secure p/w. thanks for the immediate reply Eric. I’m leary of deleting the lines in the code. Guess I should back up functions.php anyway even though it might be suspucious. Or wait until the AM to call the host.
Yeah, it came from appfinite. Can I just delete the section? can’t get in touch with the host unfortunately. It’s a client site and have to wait until tomorrow AM. What to do.
I don’t see this encoding in the insynch theme I downloaded, so it got added but what’s strange is that when I look at the file in FTP the last mod date was 12/14 of 2014. Any insight would be appreciated. The permissions on the file is 644.
Received a reply from the plug in developer who said;
“I believe your theme is overwriting some of the slider’s settings. Please try to switch to a default theme too see if the looping works properly that way.”
Any chance of getting a fix for this? I guess it could be genesis but determining that is above my pay grade.
Thanks in advance.
Figured it out. Plug in config.
Never mind. It is in the slider. I figured it out. Case closed
Hi Eric,
Notice your offer to send a demo of the kreatureamedia slider demo. I would like to take you up on that offer if it is still open. I went to their site and submitted or wanted to submit a support ticket with questions but they have a 5 to 7 day lead time on answering tickets they say.
Thanks
Dan
Sure Jason, than’s for the reply.
What confuses me is that I changed it one time from the standard 360 to 500 and that worked fine. Odd
Found the element immediately below and change to
.header-image .title-area {
padding: 0;
width: 700px;
But no avail.
Thank you.
worked like a charm.
Hi Kronos
Thanks for the reply.
http://filmmakersvillage.com/brep/about/
Many links on this page that I’d like to be able to bring out.
Thank you
Never mind. I found it.
It’s the padding element. Here it is for others.
.slider .wrap {
color: #fff;
margin: 0 auto;
padding: 10px 0;
width: 1500px;
The bottom line is that this part of the theme is n ot customer ready in my opnion. Should be well documented instructions to get full functionality deployed. something not right.
That doesnt explain why there’s no category feed.
One thing I just notice that may be an issue is that it seems that the wordpress category for the portfolio is not being included in the RSS feed.
Can you confirm? At least not for that specific category. I get 0 results from http://minutemanmobile.us/category/mobile-app-portfolio/feed
I think this is why the WpTouch Plug in is having issues. Has the portfolio category been coded out of RSS? Not sure why I am not getting any entries in the feed. Suggestions on how to fix?
Thanks
Dan
I give up on the Full Width slider being something that is easy to implement. Will figure out a work around and a replacement.
HM? Ok I created a graphic sized at 1100×650 and then added the genesis responsive slider widget to the full width slider sidebar and got a partial width slider left justified. What did I do wrong? how to fix?
http://minutemanmobile.us
thanks
dan
Sure do.
http://minutemanmobile.us/mobile-app-portfolio/
The color of the regular body text. Looks to be grayish/silvery a bit and for my (aging) eyes a bit difficult to ready. Would like to darken it up.
Thanks Eric. I’ve used nimble portfolio and it’s pretty nice but guess I will just stick with the basic functionality.
Is there a substitute to pretty photo for insynch?
Thanks Eric.
Apparently from what I can tell the bottom margin spacing is caused when a widget is use in the “Header Right” sidebar. When there is no widget in the Header Right the spacing is perfect and exactly like I want it.
Sorry for the late reply. Didn’t get a notification of the reply. Sorry.
Working with http://minutemanmobile.us right now. It has a header image.
Okay, added the code and got the full width no problem. But, there’s a huge whitespace at the top. I’s this part of the design?
http://filmmakersvillage.com/ucc/
So you’re just using the background image and the slider area is where you’ve coded the text and the button. I think I like that as an option to the slider. If I use the slider what size should the images be for best quality. Also, the code you sent will it affect the full width and regular slider widget?
Hey Wes, just getting ready to try this out. My question as a follow on is if on your the theme demo for inSynch you’re not using a slider – or so it appears. Is that true?
Here’s the URL I’m working with http://filmmakersvillage.com/ucc/
I tried dropping the Genesis Responsive Slider but that doesn’t work. Doesn’t give me full width
Thanks for your quick reply.
Question 1; Configuration of Full Width Slider
Worked perfectly.
Thanks Wes.
Worked perfectly.
