Unfortunately, we never did. We ended up reversing the order in the custom menu area to make it display correctly.
Kronos, thanks for the suggestions. Although that would fix the problem, I would prefer to do it correctly so that we can use the navigation the way it’s meant to be used with the first item at the top. I know there is some small thing I’m missing — I’m sure it’s an easy resolution.
Thanks Eric. We did some sleuthing and realized that the issue is coming from NextGen Galleries. Unfortunately, this plugin has been sold to Photocrati and is now in conflict with every other plugin and theme known to man! Yikes. Anyhow, If anyone is using NextGen Gallery Plugin beyond the 1.9 version — do NOT upgrade to WordPress 3.7. Find an alternative gallery plugin or use the WordPress native media gallery BEFORE you upgrade. It will completely break your website regardless of the theme you are using. Just a “heads up” to people. 馃槈
Unfortunately, for some reason you can no longer just use the @import css line for it to work. I had to go in and adjust your php to add the font I want. It’s now working. Thanks for the help!
Yep, that did the trick. I thank you sir for your assistance. Should have been able to figure it out on my own but appreciate you sticking with me to figure it out. Cheers!
I am unable to get the logo to center properly. It looks centered on a desktop but it’s somehow offset to the right when viewed on an iPad. I can’t seem to find the code that is offsetting it on a tablet. Although we have removed the responsive code we don’t usually have an issue with it scaling down on a tablet. Not sure if you can help given it may be due to us customizing things…
Okay, so that’s pretty embarassing. Thanks. That totally makes sense.
We have added the logo into the background of the CSS and it is now centering. For some reason, even though “Show header text with your image” is unchecked, the text version of the logo is still displaying? Are we missing something that needs to be done in the control panel? Hi Wes, I read it and tried the code but it did not work for me. Here’s a link to the site (it’s a work in progress): http://originalginger.com/demos/yorkhr/. I know that I could add it manually to the css but just wondered if there was an easier way using the header utility.
Please close this topic…we’ve figured out.
Thanks Wes. Now, I don’t have to look for the code. Appreciate it as always!
Never mind, I found it. It’s a setting in the Theme Settings area.
Instead of using the Portfolio I’ve decided to just use the default blog; but, when I choose this option it only shows two sentences of each post. Is there an easy way to change this and allow more characters to show? Here’s a link: http://www.originalginger.com/demos/firstclass/blog/ (work in progress)
Hi Eric, thanks for getting back to me. I appreciate the links. Very helpful.
Oh no! I just figured out that I’m using the 1.0 version of Legacy instead of the latest version. Does anyone know what PHP or CSS I need to add in order to limit the text to display only an excerpt of a post on a page? If I update the theme now to the latest one I’ll lose all of my CSS changes I think. 馃檨
Bob, I noticed you mention that your settings are set to display only post excerpts and that you could indicate a limit of the characters that display. How come I don’t have that option in my WordPress dashboard under Theme Settings? Do you know why that might be?
Hopefully, someone else here can assist. (Off topic) Wes, you may want to try something like http://www.spoon.net for cross browser testing. It’s very affordable and makes life easier on the development side of things. 馃槈
