Never mind. Found code for full page Genesis slider at https://sridarkatakam.com.
Thanks!
Hi Eric! Please help! When a width is added to .head-wrap – the entire header left-justifies.
Due to the coding of this theme (which I love!) – adding a background image to the header is unbelievably difficult! This must be a common need – adding the work-around to FAQs might be helpful.
I am sending the link to the test website as a Private Reply.
Please let me know if you receive the link?
Thanks!
When I do that, it loads as left-justified – instead of centering over the content wrap.
.head-wrap in this theme refers to the top horizontal slice of the header.
Suggestions for getting a background added to the .head-wrap – to load over the content area only?
Thanks!

Just want white backgrounds on all pages/posts.
Before the upgrade to HTML5 – had successfully gotten all the page/post backgrounds set to #fff. I strongly suspect HTML5 may be a factor. But, it doesn’t matter.
Can you suggest a fix that will work for creating white backgrounds in all pages/posts?
Thanks very much!
Breadcrumbs = Genesis Theme Settings.
1. Breadcrumbs now disabled in Genesis Theme Settings.
2. No Change; content section does not match sidebar section.
Appfinite has such great themes! And until the HTML5 upgrade, setting solid colored backgrounds for pages/posts was not a problem.
So I strongly suspect this issue is connected to HTML5; just not familiar enough with HTML5 to fix it myself.
Any other ideas? Your input greatly appreciated!

Sort of. There is the #fff background now.
But – the main content area – and the sidebar area – do not match heights.

I have tried several code bits – nothing has worked.
Please – any ideas on getting the main content area and the sidebar area to match heights?
Thanks!
The above Reply was for code for creating margins on interior pages with a background.
Here is the code for eliminating the gap between the content and sidebar on interior pages:
.content {
background: #fff;
float: right;
width: 780px;
}
Never mind and thanks! Got it:
.entry {
margin-bottom: 00px;
margin-bottom: 1.5rem;
padding: 0 20px 20px 20px;
padding: 0 1rem 1rem 1rem;
}
Hi Eric! I tried that in the beginning; it does work. However, the client wants the same background on all the pages (not just the front page).
In Ally version 1.0 – I had successfully altered the CSS so that all interior pages were #fff – without a break between the main content and the sidebar.
Don’t know why the upgrade to HTML5 is making this so difficult to accomplish now. There has to be a way to do this in the new format.
Putting a background on the front page only will not work for this project (and most others).
Please give guidance?
Thanks!
Hello Eric! I de-activated the countdown timer.
If we could work with the adding a white background to pages/posts – that would be very helpful.
Thanks!

Eric – Thank You! I should have caught that myself – I understand the difficulty not closing the tags can cause in WP.
This site has had hosting issues, and every other kind of issue 🙂 Totally overlooked something as simple as this.
Can I buy you a cup of coffee for your trouble?
Many, many thanks!!!

Hello Eric! I have IE 9. I stopped trying to use the IE compatibility mode to view the site because it was obviously making things worse:)
http://wordpresstrainingdfw.net/testabc
Everything looks great on the site in regular IE 9 – except. There is a white stripe about 50 px tall at the bottom of the Nav. That is not supposed to be there. The site, viewed in Chrome or Firefox, does not have the white stripe.
So the real issue is (apologies for being long-winded in the first place!) – how to get rid of the white stripe under Nav in IE.
Thanks!
In IE Regular view in the Footer – there is now a red bar/black background – above the regular footer section (that also has a red bar with black background).
The 2nd Footer top bar (which should not be there) is fuzzy. The correct footer top bar (2nd bar in IE Regular view in the Footer) correctly displays and is not fuzzy.
Very strange!
Help?
Fixed the ‘right-justified’ issue on all pages in IE and the front page widgets (IE regular view) – by using html in the Home Feature widgets.
But the white stripe under the Nav section remains. Need to remove the white stripe.
In IE Compatibility View – the white stripe under Nav disappears. BUT text in all widgets and all pages still right-justified.
Thanks!
IE Compatibility View – text is also right-justified on all pages and widgets
I had the same issue. Hacked some CSS from one of Wes’s other themes. This worked for me. But have not looked at it yet on mobile.
#header .widget-area {
overflow: hidden;
width: auto;
}
#header .widget {
margin: 75px 0 0 15px;
overflow: hidden;
Doh! 🙂 Thanks Wes!
Also, do you have a link – or hint – for what is the easiest way to add a white background to the page and post text portions? I can research it if pointed in the right direction.
Many, many thanks!
Woohoo! Never mind, Wes. Can’t believe it was that easy!
Just set my ‘top menu’ as secondary navigation. It’s built it! OMG.
Cool!
DK
Got it – thanks!
Hi Wes! Use instructions are not there, that I could find. There is a link to a Documentation page in the zip file.
That Documentation page describes only how to install the plugin (a no-brainer). And then says all further usage instructions are available by clicking the Documentation link within the Layer Slider Admin.
And, that link does not work.
