      Thanks Wes!

      Yes, that was my question. I had planned to post that link this morning too. Sridhar’s solution works perfectly.

      If using Epik v.1.4, changing the home.php template name to front-page.php and then adding that string of code to the functions.php works great.

      If using the newer 1.5 version of Epik, one only needs to add the string of code to functions.php.

            Thanks Andykev,

            I have installed it on my localhost and trying to replace 1.4 with 1.5.

            Can you tell me if there is another Epik Widget Location Guide like the one listed in this forum?

            I’m mostly missing the widget area on the right in the header. Looks like I can add a menu but nothing else, yes?

              Thanks Eric,

              Yes, I used the older 1.4.1 version of Epik because I needed to use Epik how I modified it for another site and pulled it into a new one and am building from there. I wished I could have started over.

              Your suggestion is a great one. I may just pull that newer template into the theme and grab the functions in the functions.php along with the CSS and see how it flies. In staging of course.

              Yes, I finally got the if ( $loop_counter == 3 ) to cooperate when I changed it to if ( $loop_counter == 2 ) I tried many times. Maybe there was a caching issue on that account.

              Thanks for your quick reply!

                Yes I do have issues with the thumbnails but figure its a glitch from an old site using a new theme. I will resize them and it should work fine.

                No, I did not change the thumbnail sizes in the functions.php.
                Yes, I need to resize manually because the previous site used a similar portfolio with smaller images.Regenerate Thumbnails plugin did not work. But not a problem

                My real concern is the masonry.

                  Thanks so much hoolamonster!

                  **Solved: I now have the titles and images not linking to the posts. Added and removed from the page_portfolio.php template. Bookmarking that awesome link you shared for sure.

                  **Will fix: I tried regenerating thumbnails to see if it would help (on a staging site) but it only made things worse. Think I will recreate thumbnails to be 264px by 200px and see how they fit in there.

                  **Masonry Issue: BUT honestly regarding the masonry. My site is 1140px wide. I wouldn’t mess with that. I’ve gone back to my CSS and compared it to the original. I have put everything on the portfolio page back to original regarding any additional padding or article widths but the masonry still does not work the way it really should.

                  The first two rows are better than before but the third one doesn’t float up under the others as masonry should. I’ve tinkered with the CSS in Firebug not finding anything that works. Currently I removed the 2% margin on the right and added 1% to both left and right to balance out the articles.

                      There is too much at this point to figure out. I guess I need to go back to a clean install and see how I can put it back

                      I really didn’t think my CSS edits had anything to do with the header area and the logo is the size the theme wants. I figured it should work by default but never checked it. So I’ll go back and find the issue. Thanks for your reply.

                        Hello,

                        I still hope to learn how to remove the links from the main portfolio archive. Specifically do not want the portfolio featured images or portfolio titles to link to individual portfolio posts.

                        Also the masonry layout on that page has really large empty gaps between each portfolio item. Its looking really looking bad. What can I do?

                        Thanks

                          Yes and you have a very valid point. I may just need to recreate those images to fit in that area rather than trying to adjust them to make them center. One thing that is wonky with the portfolio is the last column has a padding to the right just like the others and using “:last-child” isn’t working. Oh well. Its a small padding and has nothing to do with the issue of centering the featured images.

                          I do hope to remove the links (I don’t need the portfolio to go to single pages). They seem to be going to 404pages. Not sure why.

                          I sincerely thank you for your assistance, understanding and patience.

                            I appreciate your efforts but I’m hoping for support and not hacks that use !important. When users in a forum offer assistance it can often deter others, like perhaps the author or moderators, from offering an appropriate solution.

                            Thanks.

                              However, this site was using something similar to the portfolio in a CPT. I removed it. The images associated with each CPT were often smaller. But that CPT would center the images.

                                      Thanks for your reply Eric, and thanks so very much for your compliment Wes! Thats a lot coming from you.

                                      Once done I would be Honored to submit it to be added your showcase. I love Epik! It has so much potential.

                                      And yes I figured out what I needed to do with the extra widgetized area. It wasn’t working and realized it was only a CSS thing.

                                      Customer

                                        Okay so I added an extra full width widgetized area to my theme. I used the genesis_after_content_sidebar_wrap. On my home page it works great. Sits right where it should. But on my interior pages the widget content is in the correct position but the actual container extends up under the main part of the page. My background image is tucked up under that container.

                                        I could probably figure out a way to move that image so that it is once again visible BUT I know that the way this new container is installed isn’t quite right.

                                        Here is what I added to the functions.php

                                        //Extra Widget Area Above Footer
                                        function genesischild_footerwidgetheader() {
                                        	genesis_register_sidebar( array(
                                        	'id' => 'footerwidgetheader',
                                        	'name' => __( 'After Content Widget Headline', 'epik' ),
                                        	'description' => __( 'This is for the After Content Widget Headline', 'epik' ),
                                        	) );

                                        }

                                        add_action ('widgets_init','genesischild_footerwidgetheader');

                                        //Position Widget for Lower Banners and Opt-in

                                            I see this post is a year old. But I’m having a horrible time getting RoyalSlider to work at all in Epik. I have also sent a support request to RoyalSlider. The Block Editor acts like its broken and the images are stacking. I think there may be a JavaScript/jQuery conflict or something.

I have a feeling that I can pull the functionality out of Modern Studio Pro to get this done. I already pulled the sticky message out and added it to Epik. Really hoping for this navigation. Thing.

                                              PS: thanks for the kudos on design. I only did part of it. It is a very old site and doing some cleanup.

                                                Hi Kronos

                                                I created an install into my clients WPEngine account here:

                                                http://jse.wpengine.com

                                                Its still in development and rough but the top part of the page is as it will stay unless I can do the following:

                                                Which is to pull that split centered nav bar and the responsive version from Modern Studio Pro. I managed to pull the Sticky Message from that theme but the nav bar seems trickier.

                                                I’ve found a couple of tutorials about it but so far all I could do is mangle the theme.

                                                Thanks
