      If I mark the widgets for the footer area, that seems to be the only time I can get the widgets to display on the home page. I’ve set up the home page to be a page, and have the ‘default’ page type selected.

      I have used WordPress for years, but this is my first time ever using the Genesis framework so I’m sure it’s something simple that I’m unaware of. Is this due to genesis settings, or am I missing something with the Epik theme?

        If your homepage isn’t showing the widgets (like the demo), then take a look at this link – https://appfinite.com/tutorials/how-to-setup-the-home-and-blog-page/

        Basically you just need to set your Settings > Reading page to “Latest Posts” since the home.php file takes care of the Home page. That link will also explain how to setup a blog.
